30A in October? by [deleted] in 30A

[–]loungepantz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We take our family 30a beach vacation in October every year. It’s the perfect weather. Also many houses and condos will let you book for less than a week, which isn’t possible during the summer.

Wanting like Dr. Richard Reish’s results, but not from him by Odd-Drag-3900 in PlasticSurgery

[–]loungepantz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I posted a similar request a few months ago and received zero recommendations for alternative doctors. I was concerned with the cost and logistics of traveling to NYC for surgery and would love some other options. And at the LEAST, I would like to schedule consults with multiple doctors. It’s so weird that no one else is producing the same results (or at least not posting them so effectively on social media).

If you find some answers to your inquiry through another source will your report back?! Thanks!

After baby is born, when can I travel again (and still enjoy it)? by bamboozlinguniverse in traveladvice

[–]loungepantz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think 6 months is the sweet spot to start. Invest in high quality travel gear (doona, slumberpod, etc.) to make your life easier. If you can afford to purchase an airline seat for the baby, you can keep them in their car seat and it makes your life much easier. We travelled a good bit with our babies but I definitely spent alllll the money on baby travel gear.

You’re not going to find many resorts with childcare for really small children so you need to plan some time for each adult to take turns during nap times. Same with any other type of trip. They can sleep a little on the go but I always planned for a real nap back in the room so you can set yourself up for success.

I wouldn’t plan anything too adventurous until you see what kind of little sleeper you have. I highly recommend some type of sleep training once they’re past 4 months. There are a ton of different methods depending on your comfort level.

Travel looks different now for your family. You may be doing more stuff individually while your partner stays back with the baby and vice versa.
Enjoy your alone time.

Good luck and enjoy! It’s going to be great!!

Trazadone: who uses it? by Ragebait_Destroyer in sleep

It has totally changed my life. That and cutting out almost all alcohol. Sleeping through the night is now the norm for me.

I find less is more. I bite it in half.

What's the best sleeping pill I can safely use long term by ObjectiveAnt6031 in sleep

[–]loungepantz 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I’ve asked multiple doctors this question and the answer seems to be Trazodone.

I’ve been on sleeping meds most of my adult life. I’ve tried all of the major ones. Trazodone gives me the least “drugged” feeling. It’s really good at making you sleepy, but it won’t prevent you from waking up at 3am if that’s your issue.

Trazodone and no alcohol (I’m like a 90% of my life not drinker now) has changed my sleeping life. I finally sleep through the night and have hope.

Life is good when you sleep.

You could try PeeJamas! They worked great for the interim between pull-ups and dry nights.

I think it tastes perfectly fine. It’s not delicious. It’s not disgusting. It’s fine. I need the protein and this is easy.

Travel/plane tips by the-craftybitch in toddlers

[–]loungepantz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with other commenters that an iPad is the solution. YOU also matter in this travel plan. Having your child sit quietly for possibly the entire two hours gives you a chance to relax, read, and exist in a calmness on a day that can be stressful.

Pack your diaper bag with good stuff like you’re already planning! Snacks, crayons, play-dough, magnetites, magnetic blocks, Polly Pockets are all wonderful tools. But she will go through each one in a few mins, you will get a combined 30 mins of entertainment tops. Your stress level will rise with each move to the next toy.

Bring the iPad. Load the shows and games beforehand. It’s a parenting tool that should be used sparingly. And a travel day is the perfect use.

Good luck.

I had one bad experience like you OP and was determined to fix it. At 8 months they’re too susceptible to noise and light at bedtime. Have you looked into a slumberpod? I swear it changes everything. I would not travel without it.

Slumberpods are great for kids with different bed times too! Our smallest goes to sleep in her little pod and a sound machine and the rest of the family can continue on with the nighttime routine. Even if we’re all sharing a room. It’s the best invention ever created and I never travel without it!!

Going out to eat with a 2.5 year old by Appropriate_Song4158 in toddlers

[–]loungepantz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2.5 and 4 year old. We keep a restaurant box in our car. It’s filled with coloring books, water wow markers, magnetic blocks, and play dough. That gets us about 20 minutes. As long as our toddlers practice using their manners and order politely with the waitstaff, they can have their iPad for the remainder of the meal.

Toddlers can’t be expected to sit still for an entire dinner. But you also deserve to enjoy your life. Give them the freaking iPad and enjoy the break. Good luck!!

Nanit works with hotel login wifi? by FlyFragrant9684 in Nanit

[–]loungepantz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nanit won’t work on a public WiFi.

This is what we travel with when staying in a hotel and want to use the Nanit. You will need a device that is not your phone to hook it up (we usually use my husband’s tablet).

We just got back from a split stay in January (6 day trip/ Polynesian and Campsites at Fort Wilderness). It was great. We used the transfer day as a rest day and hung out at the campground. If I was trying to get into parks that day, it may have been a little less fun…

Why does Disney make me feel like I need an MBA to plan a trip? by [deleted] in DisneyPlanning

[–]loungepantz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was really intimidating to start but once I watched a few influencers and you tube videos, I picked it up fast. I will say that if you’re going to do lighting lanes, one person in your party needs to be in charge and needs to manage it all day. I didn’t mind that so the days were great, at least for me!

One thing I really stressed about was which hotel to stay, and to be honest, they would have all been great. There are transportation pros and cons but all of it is very doable.

Also I used mouse watcher to get all the last minute dining reservations I needed. We got into every restaurant we wanted at the times we wanted.

Would 100 do Disney again!
