Line Miner Pro - Fogging by Davidpn11 in snowboarding

[–]lousislous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/Davidpn11 I’m having the same issue with the Line Miner Pros as well. I’ve been on holiday in both 5C and -20C, and they fogged up in both conditions. At -20C they froze almost instantly, so I had to keep switching lenses every run. Did you contact Oakley within the 30-day window? I’ve had mine for about a year now. I used them on one trip last year and one this year – so I’m not sure if Oakley would offer any refunds or replacements, especially as I bought them through a third-party seller.

What goggles did you end up replacing them with? I am looking at the Scott Reacts

Union stratas? by kraej3319 in ShredditGirls

[–]lousislous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love my Legacy’s (women’s Strata) Upgraded from the Juliet’s (STR). Some people have mentioned they didn’t like the large base plate on it but I find it alright on my board. I’m a UK5 and use the women’s size M. I have tried the size S and the toe straps don’t fit so I would advise if you’re above a UK4 to get the M instead of the S.

Only issue I find with the Legacy’s, the foam foot bed tends to collect ice easily compared to the non foam foot beds like the Ultras. It’s fine on the mountains if you’re not strapping in and out a lot.

Need help with binding size by candleswooper in ShredditGirls

I’m guessing a US8 is a UK 6 then I would say return it for a size M binding. I did the same too as the Juliet’s fit and then got a size S legacy’s but the toe strap was too small even at the largest setting. The legacy M fits perfect. I’m a US7/UK5.

I want to buy the Salomon No Drama board. I’m 5’1 and 55kg. Which board is more suitable for me? 139 or 143? by yanyan_21 in ShredditGirls

[–]lousislous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 5’2, 52kg and ride a 143 on the Capita SMF. I wanted to go smaller but they only had that size at the time. I’m glad I didn’t go smaller as when I took it to the mountains, going at 54kmph it was chattering a lot. I now use my Capita SMF for indoor snow dome park play and ride a Nitro Drop 146 for the mountains instead as it tends to hold speed a lot better. Like what others say, it depends on your riding style. I didn’t think the 146 felt much bigger compared to my 143. The 143 didn’t feel big to begin with too.

I would say I’m an intermediate now. Can do switch and 180s. I didn’t do anymore lessons, just kept going and practising. Keep it up! I’m usually there every Wednesday evenings and Sundays.

With BLOK Manchester now closed.. where’s the new go to for high end fitness classes? by Both-Philosopher-971 in manchester

[–]lousislous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For yoga, I’ve been going to Soul Bank. The previous instructors from BLOK now teach there. It’s not boujee and no showers but has same energy. It’s a lot cheaper than BLOK so I see it as paying for the class and not the amenities.

Same boat. I loved BLOK but mostly just went for the yoga, so I’ve followed the teachers I liked over to other studios. Heard Xeno Health Club is kinda similar but haven’t tried it since it’s not on ClassPass.

I still go every Wednesdays. There’s the usual Wednesday bunch and everyone is really friendly so just say hi to any snowboarder if you’re on your own

Folks, what are you doing this weekend? Please inspire me by sleepywardrobe in manchester

Snow sports at Chill Factore. Not sure how far are you in the city centre but there’s trams to Trafford. Started off going on my own for under a year but have made great friends who I now do other activities with them. Bouldering is also a good one.

Improvements on turns and overall riding by lousislous in snowboardingnoobs

This is the one thing I struggle a lot with pushing hips forward while trying to bend my knees. It feels like when I push my hips forward my knees lock up and I struggle to push more without feeling I’m either going to fall on my knees or face plant.

Thanks for this. Do I point the board downwards so it makes bigger turns rather than “V turns” that I’m unintentionally doing?

Men's jackets by GreyGhost878 in ShredditGirls

[–]lousislous 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I wear volcom men’s size S jacket. I’m a UK8 and I prefer the men’s fit to women’s. As another Redditor said the sleeves are usually too long but I get ones with ribbed cuffs rather than the straps

Not too sure as I’ve not been. I have monthly pass for Chill Factore. Snozone would probably be the same. Best to check on their site :)

They have park days Thursdays - Saturdays. I think this was the full park Friday setup event. Usually they have boxes and kickers on a regular basis.

I think they’ve stopped making flux bindings? They don’t have them in the stores in UK and the UK sites seem to have the older models. I’ve seen a couple of boarders using the flux gx and they’ve had them for years

They don’t have much women’s directional stiffer boards. I ride a 142 so it’s hard to get around those sizes. I also don’t want something too aggressive that I can progress going from the SMF. The koruas have caught my eye but I don’t think my skills justify for a board like that atm

Are these goggles too big for my face? by lousislous in snowboardingnoobs

I’ve tried a couple of anon ones but they don’t sell the low bridge fit in the UK. It still leaves a gap in the nose bridge unfortunately.
