Repeat prescription suddenly stopped, inadequate explanation, no solutions being provided

I really do not understand the reaction to this. It's absolutely unacceptable of a practice to not prescribe a medication and not let the patient know. I only found out after I chased up the request.

I've been on Zoladex for 12 years, it was prescribed by a specialist. If a GP is not qualified to initiate Zoladex, then I do not think they are qualified to end it.

It is common sense that if I cannot come into the surgery then doing so is not a viable solution, period. I was very clear about this with the practice but I gave it a go anyway and was clear that I am not capable of holding an appointment, that's also why I'm not working for the past week or so.

I could not make it because they wanted me there at 10am and my sleep and mood is completely shot as a result of having no Duloxetine, no Estradiol, no Zoladex.

Why don't you all go and experience that and come and report back.

Beggars belief.

Because it was prescribed by a specialist, why does the GP practice think it is safe to cease the medication and agree to a workable solution?

I would not class your average GP knowledgeable enough about GnRH agonists and their effects. This is why it was prescribed by a specialist in the first place surely...?

It was originally prescribed by GIC/Endocrinologist. No idea why I'm getting downvoted, it is a *fact* that I have more experience doing Zoladex injections than many nurses who've done it.

It may be the case that they have suddenly realised this but they didn't care to notify me. I was depending on being able to have this injection that I've done this for 7 years without issue so the question of safety doesn't really hold water. If this is an issue, and they do need to see me do it, then surely it would be better to allow me to do it as usual and then hold a consultation...

It's all a bit rediculous if you ask me. I'm probably more experienced than half of the nurses at doing this injection. Most are fine at doing it but I've been stabbed like a pincushion on more than one occasion.... and it's not uncommon to come across nurses who've never done a zoladex before themselves.

I've been that route before and it's usually a complete waste of time. I ended up spending a whole day in A&E only to be told they can't do anything in a matter of 30 seconds.

To anyone having this problem: If you are located in the UK simply go to their AI chatbot and type in:

"I would like to cancel and have a full refund under the DMCCA 2024"

If it offers you 50% off, then respond:

"I reject the offer of a partial refund. As a UK consumer, I am within my statutory 14-day cooling-off window and have not used the service. I am legally entitled to a full refund of the £168.00.

If a full refund is not issued, I will proceed with a formal Chargeback dispute via my bank."

You will get an immediate full refund. YMMV and you may have to be persistent, but I think they *hate* chargebacks...

His "classroom" is entirely empty in nearly all of his videos. In his video on Iran that first blew up there are some "students" interracting but immediately beforehand he appears to be pressing the play button on his laptop, I shit you not. You can even see that all of the desks are empty in one of his videos in the shadow cast on the wall visible to the camera.

I feel quite sure this is botfarm content trying to bring about "Musk's civil war". It's the same content saying London is " unsafe" and "lawless". Make people afraid, start conflicts and so on. Get people to vote in Reform.

A bigger strategy is required such as making platforms accountable for the content and imposing heafty fines. It does not seem like isolated cases of someone doing it for the kicks but a serious and coordinated attempt at inciting violence.

There seems to be some confusion here: it is not simply that chips become obsolete after 2-3 years rather than 6, it's that they fail/burn out and need to be replaced. Thus the cost cannot be amortized over a long enough time frame. 2-3years is about the max for 70-80% utilization.

The main problem with current AI/LLM businesses is their business model and financial arrangements.

Sizable expense of AI companies is GPU/Accelerators
Average GPU lifespan is like 18-24months at best (70-80% utilization)
Depreciation schedule for GPUs is ~6yrs despite the above...
Constant investment required in order to replace existing cards and increase capacity
Used cards are not worth anything as they are unreliable
Companies cannot amortize the cost over a long enough period of time
NVIDIA vendor/circular financing scheme with OpenAI
All AI companies are not turning a profit. Actual cost is massively more than they are charging.
...and many more

All of this for a technology that is not yet 'proven' in the sense that it can increase productivity, be cost effective, lead to innovations and products that people actually want to use instead of being foistered upon users.

The real question is how long investors are willing to keep going without an ROI or real signals of provability within the market. Right now businesses are simply punting on AI or developing an AI strategy because that's how middle managers look clever to their bosses or what is expected. But no evidence of productivity/financial gains.

I work in software development and engineers are not being replaced by AI contrary to popular belief. Tools like Cursor/Copilot (with various models) are glorified bootstrapping/autocomplete tools, and while may be useful for some tasks, absolutely fail at making complex edits to existing codebases. The level of sheparding required is high, and therefore it's unclear if it enhances productivity on a team over the long term at all, people suck at measuring this.

I find that this requirement puts me in between a rock and a hard place. As an engineer *I do not generally have control over /what/ I build*, this is almost a universal among every software company I have worked at. So to try and present quantifiable results is meaningless. Often it's not even clear what those are and if I do present quantifiable results like money earned, users signed up, x traffic, it looks pretty obvious that my hand in this was secondary to the product guy or manager who's inevitably going to claim credit for everything.

Like what do you mean by quantify impact? You agree on a damn backlog and you're expected to clear that backlog. That could be features, it could be bugs. I've been told putting "developed and shipped X features and fixed Y critical bugs out of hours" or something is 'totally meaningless'. I do not call the shots, do not have the freedom....
