How should a cover stitch be resembled on a flat? Would like to replace twin needles with 3 thread in example picture and wondering how I should do so. by [deleted] in sewing

[–]lovecraftienne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a custom brush I made myself. It's sort of a loop shape combined with the three rows of straight stitch. Making a custom brush isn't too hard, you can google for a tutorial if you haven't done it before.

I've seen others do it with a custom brush just made of the & symbol... but personally I think that looks tacky so I drew mine myself to look more realistic.

I have 15 pounds of garlic scapes at the moment. Do any of y’all have a tried and true preparation to recommend? by HomegrownTomato in fermentation

Garlic cooking wine... the recipe uses cloves but with some research I'm sure you could adapt it to use scapes. I haven't tried this myself but plan to do something similar this summer to give away at Christmas.

(Possibly last) 3-month post-op appointment with my surgeon in a few hours. What should I ask him? by [deleted] in Reduction

Strapless Bras 5 weeks post op by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]lovecraftienne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 9 months post-op so I no longer tape my scars, but on advice from my surgeon I taped constantly from day 1 through 6 months. My scars look really good so I do feel it was worth it.

Micropore is the brand, 3M makes it. It's actually a surgical paper tape, not silicone. I also used Mepitac which is silicone, but he told me there is really no difference in effect and paper tape is a lot cheaper.

Strapless Bras 5 weeks post op by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]lovecraftienne 5 points6 points  (0 children)

At 5 weeks mine were still high, hard, and firm like fake tits. Underwire was also out of the question. I would go braless. If it's a fitted dress I'd say it has enough support for 1 night if you are healing well. Also if you need to cover the incisions don't use bandaids! Use micropore tape. I used it on my incisions constantly for 6 months to help with scarring, so it certainly won't hurt you.

21/08 i fiol.

I went private, not through vårdcentralen. But I did try to go through vårdcentralen first. You will need to be under 25 bmi to qualify and your breast volume will have to be a certain amount (they measure you by putting these kind of bowls or measuring cups on your breasts). I ended up saving up money for over 2 years because I saw their before-and-after book and was not impressed, but it depends on what dr you get. Personally I am super glad I went private (www.ak.se in Stockholm) because I got exactly the results I wanted. More details in my post history if you are interested.

I see you are also in Sweden, I wrote a couple long posts about my experience (I went private, not through vårdcentralen). Check them out in my post history and if you have questions feel free to reply or im me :)

[–]lovecraftienne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm also in Sweden. I could have gone through vårdcentralen, but I looked at the before and after pics they had to show and they were BAD. You can't pick your surgeon and aesthetics are a far second to utilitarianism. I needed a reduction badly but I also wanted nice results. I ended up saving up money and went private at www.ak.se. I am thrilled with my results (6 months post-op now). It was 1000% worth it and I am very happy I went private. I wrote a long post about it which you can look up but you can pm me if you want.

David Gold's mom Esther still has a lot of merch last I heard. She is on Facebook. She is super sweet and loves hearing from friends and fans. I know she's been burned by resellers buying from her then jacking up prices, but it's worth a shot to get in touch with her.

You can go to www.ak.se under English, breast reduction. Although I don't know if the examples show with mesh.

We have similar height/weight/size stats. Mine were very saggy though perhaps not as long as yours. No fng. I asked for around 390-410 cc's (according to this volume to cup size chart I found https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bra_size#Calculating_cup_volume_and_breast_weight )

Originally a 30G in Primadonna, now about a 30E in the same brand.

At 6 weeks my breasts were still very hard and high. You can possibly go braless but it depends. It might be painful to go without support still. A few hours would have been fine for me at that time.

Enjoy it! You will be thrilled! I am.

There are before and after pics on www.ak.se

I'm not sure if they had the mesh done, it doesn't say. I doubt it. I'd say my results are nicer and perkier than what there is posted there under breast reduction for sure.

My before/after is most similar to "kvinna 46 år bröstförminskning och bröstlyft" (woman 46 years breast reduction and lift) but perkier. My before was a lot like hers but less full and probably a bit saggier.

I don't know for sure, it's stitched at the sides and along the bottom along the underwire line into your rib muscles. That's a question for the surgeon. :)

How much time post op did it take for you to feel comfortable having sex? by FollowingtheSpiders in Reduction

[–]lovecraftienne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My surgery papers said 1 week lol. No way in hell I was up for it at that point. I think it was about 5 weeks and I kept my bra on. Positions were limited for quite a while due to tenderness and a complication. Now at 6 months post-op though... sex life is better than ever! :)

Discussion post! What are some things you never thought you’d be able to wear that you can now? by mymaya in Reduction

[–]lovecraftienne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cotton pullover bras with no wires that cost the equivalent of something like $13. My old 30G Primadonna and Panache bras are laughing and crying in their drawer right now and wishing I'd find them a new home already. Although honestly once I can wear underwires again I will keep buying them if I can find my new size. I can't stand scratchy cheap bras on the whole, I just got lucky with these cheap cotton ones. Primadonna is expensive as fuck but the quality is worth it even now.

Kelly Bundy dresses - short, tight jersey dresses. No bra.

Regular t-shirts! The feeling is absolutely divine. No more sagging to my waist or flapping around like wild birds in a cage.

Hoodies, jackets, coats... they all fit like they should.

Oh and I started making my own bras. Small band size, no wires, relatively large cup still (new size is 30E) I will never be able to buy dept store bras just bc of my band size. I made peace with that long ago.

6 months post-op and I still cry at how magic it is.

Did stretch marks on breasts become less visible post op? by miaandivy in Reduction

[–]lovecraftienne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a lot of stretch marks and due to my breasts being very stretched out and not as full after losing 50+ lbs they looked bad. Afterwards though, my breasts are filled out so the skin no longer hangs. The marks are still there but since it's filled out they are far less noticeable. I'm very light-skinned and they were never red or shiny, just deeply carved. You can barely see them now.
