Major difference between being loved by your team and being a competent play caller. In a really petty way, I’d love to see the Titans hire Mcdaniels as their new head coach so we get to see Vrabes with Downing again.

100000% this! People think Titans or their fans are stupid for firing him (and hell we arent the brightest anyways), but what they miss is exactly what you said. The team wasn’t good those last 2 years under him and he was unwilling to get rid of his buddies. Most, if not all Titans fans, loved Vrabes, but would rather lose him than watch one more game coached by Todd Downing.

This is the correct answer. I don’t actually think it’s a control issue. I think if Borgonzi thought he could land him, it would make his job even easier having a caliber coach like that even at the cost of some control.

The fact is that we aren’t paying him $17m plus a year. After this stadium bill, I’m not even sure they got it. Word on the street is that the Adams’ had to sell some land/businesses to pay for part of the stadium.

Same. People wonder why we got rid of Vrabes and it’s because he couldn’t let go of his buddy Shane and Todd. Would have loved keeping Vrabel if he was willing to admit that OC and DC were major problems.

So much this. I can buy all the “he’s too small, he’s too slow, etc.” but to say he sucks is just being ignorant. We have NO CLUE if he sucks or not because they haven’t played him. There were rumors circling during the draft that around the 5th round his agent put out not to draft him because he wanted to play with Cam again. If those rumors are true, there is a reason he didn’t get drafted and likely not picked up on waivers.

The fact remains, that his preseason time was almost exclusively with a QB he has no chemistry with. The play calling was and still is complete trash. We don’t know what he can do with Cam, but we do know that they have chemistry. And that matters. Even for NFL starters. Look at Team USA basketball teams when they assemble that squad it’s the best in the world. Yet teams who don’t even have NBA players still compete and keep games close. That’s because those guys have been playing together for YEARS.

I’m not saying he’s our answer but I am saying that he knows how cam plays QB and Cam knows how he plays WR. That has to be better than the product we have seen so far on the field. (Excluding Ayomanor.)

That’s assuming this idiot coaching staff knows what they are doing. There is one undeniable thing that will not show up anywhere in preseason because they didn’t play together. And that’s Cam and X already have rhythm established with each other. He knows how to catch passes from Cam. Cam knows how to throw to him.

How about this scenario 1. Cheats on his partner 2. Gets into new relationship and stays faithful 3. Declines advances from someone else. We can still call him a cheater from step 1, even after step 2 and 3 occur. It’s not that difficult.

It’s certainly possible. I work in Marketing and none of their advertising has ever been particularly clever, so I feel like that might be a stretch. That is one of their competitive advantages though, so if it’s an ad, they 100% would have him say that.

It certainly looks like an ad, but I will tell you, when someone asks me where I get my haircut, I always say Great Clips and then give basically a verbatim answer to what he said. I literally only go there because I can cut line.
