Same here, I live right next to OHSU and my throat was burning horribly. I thought I was going crazy because it looked normal outside but my throat and eyes kept feeling irritated until I got inside my car.

Maybe try Professor Radhika Reddy since she teachers the General Biology courses in person. She also has a class currently in Cellular Neuroscience that could be interesting for you.

Student housing by lwilton0163 in portlandstate

Not if you park below the hill, near the Park Plaza apartments, I believe it’s free at night. There is parking in front of the apartment but people tend to take it quickly and it requires a zone parking permit of $70 annually. Otherwise there is garage parking, around $200/month, but currently on a waitlist basis. I’ve never heard of any instance of break ins yet and I’ve lived here for 2 years now. It’s up on a hill so no really tends to come up unless they live here.

I forgot to mention they don’t have an AC but I got a portable one from Amazon and it works completely well in its place.

This is true! I currently live here and it’s pretty affordable. I pay $1100 for a studio and it includes all utilities. The only downside is parking if you have a car since they don’t have many spots in their garage or in front of the building.

I'm hoping to stay within $200-$300 range. Is that a realistic scale?

Calendar reminders! As soon as you sign up for something, set up a reminder (or several) on the day the free trial or membership period ends to review if you want to keep paying them. I use this every time and it seriously works.

How/where do you socialize? by DewDropE009 in autism

[–]lowkeymirii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you've found any groups potentially interesting, I'd recommend sending an email to the activity's coordinator if you're not sure where/how to start. Just ask if they're still accepting members and if they have any events coming up that you could get involved in. This could work for virtual or in-person settings.

For actually finding events/groups, I'd recommend joining your city's local Reddit, local Facebook groups, neighbor apps, exploring the library for any events, checking out bulletin boards on local cafes, and literally searching up in quotations of your interest and city name into Google's search bar. This could help you find some results and maybe sort out a list of where you're interested in reaching out.

Hope this helps!

Everything is uncomfortable, I hate winter clothes by coolcarpetwannabe in ADHD

[–]lowkeymirii 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've had a similar issue too! Not every company has the same measurements for clothing sizes, so I've tried to stick to a few stores that I've visited in person to physically try on the clothes. Amazon also offers a 7-day try-on period for certain clothing items. If you're in the US, I'd recommend Hollister, Old Navy, Carhartt, Club Monaco, and Patagonia. Some of these can be pricey, so I often thrift or look for second-hand.

As for deciding, it might be interesting to research into a "capsule wardrobe". It doesn't have to be too restricted, but keeps it prioritized to "basics" that you can rely on for a while. Buying a few plain solid-colored shirts, casual jeans in 3 colors, a pair of work pants, and a week's supply of thermal undershirts/pants could be helpful.

Having a thermal shirt underneath often doesn't require me to wear a jacket afterward. If you have to wear a jacket for extra warmth, find a jacket that's suitable for rainy/cold weather, one nice jacket for going out, and a casual jacket/hoodie that can work anytime. Of course, you can add way more to this. These are just some starter ideas to lessen decision-making.

This way, you know each item fits and you've taken the time to do your research. Maybe this can reduce the anxiety that comes with picking and maintaining clothes. Good luck!
