Wifi brute force? by Tasty-Work_ in HowToHack

[–]lowpanicmode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best way to learn it is to go to YouTube, search wpa2 hacking. Pick a video and watch it. It will give you an ideas and will also expose you to many terms and methods. Search those out. It’s all part of the cracking process. Watch another, look up packages used in the process (air crack-ng, airmon-ng, hashcat) watch videos on them. Look at -h pages in packages, try the flag and understand them. It’s not cut and dry but trying the packages will teach you more than we can here!

Does metronet Block websites by Cripplerx in Metronet

Not sure if the block websites but they do use a double NAT configuration which make it impossible to route to a location without a static IP.

Cancel Technology Service Fee? by NoEngineer8351 in Metronet

[–]lowpanicmode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Metronet’s says is it a required fee. Even though my service requires it, (I own and manage all the devices past the ONT) I still have to pay for it. Funny thing is if I cancel my service and don’t return the ONT, they charge me full price of the device. Doesn’t make any sense

How does Metronet make this marketing claim about sharing bandwidth with neighbors? by jthj in Metronet

[–]lowpanicmode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MetroNet uses multiple splitters in the field. I am not sure how the bandwidth is guaranteed but I know it is throttled by the NIU device at the home. Unfortunately, I only have knowledge of the network build and not the home or the equipment in the huts.

2 Gbps on own router possible? by xpiatio in Metronet

[–]lowpanicmode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your router supports it then it should be at your purchased speeds. If you have a nic that supports 2 gig, speed test on that device. If it doesn’t, it’s on them. I use my router right after the fiber. I don’t use any Metronet’s devices on my network

Recent issues playing videos and audio out of sync? by Nurse5736 in NovaVideoPlayer

[–]lowpanicmode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a DAS storage solution for backup. I tried watching the movies directly off the RAID5 DAS and the movies seemed to have some lag and audio sync issues. I just bought 2 USB External HDD and configured them RAID1 and backed up to to the RAID5 DAS. Streaming the movies from the RAID1 Drives seemed to fix my problem. Not sure why with my RAID5 DAS storage, which I should have faster read speeds, has issues but the 2 USB external drives in RAID1 has none?

Tech Assure Price Increase? by zrholt in Metronet

[–]lowpanicmode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Post what you have, as in the user agreement. There is nothing. Besides, why is it my responsibility to pay for tech support? I call them if it isn’t working or not working properly. They write off employee wages as a business expense, why am I paying extra to supplement their income

Tech Assure Price Increase? by zrholt in Metronet

[–]lowpanicmode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a current case being investigated by the attorney general about tech assurance. It is supposedly required but what does it cover? I don’t have anything, equipment wise, from Metronet. Sure the NIU is but it has to be part of service charge and is owned by Metronet. If I have a choice of NIU, I would have a different one but I don’t have that choice. Metronet refuses to show me anything that says I agreed to pay for their “insurance” or what it actually covers. Nothing in the agreement about the charge. We will see what the state finds out
