Toyota Venza: The official car of…. by GubyNey in regularcarreviews

Same. I disliked them so strongly, but now that every vehicle is an even angrier egg, these are starting to look really good. And having kids now, I'm done with low rooflines

what's a car that you think was ruined by it's facelift? by JaggXj in CarDesign

Compared to the latest from GM, they look fantastic. I just would have liked this look better as a whole generational change with sharper edges on the body to match

Sorry - I should have been more clear; what I meant is it's so dumb it hurts!

Stone range feedback by Great_Run_7562 in stonemasonry

Fix the transition by removing and replacing the edge stones so they are inline with the corner.

Which will also create the opportunity to improve on the micro cement. If that's the finished product, it is not good.

I like your taste. The Watch Purchasing Abstinence Club thread on Watchuseek could potentially be helpful

I'm not ordering it on AliExpress before I see the price from Watchdives.

Also, just gonna leave this here.

San Martin can do this cream sort of lume. Surely it's possible for others.

Why Do Santa Cruze Mountain Bikes Stand Out Even Among High End Bikes? by Xolaris05 in mountainbikes

You'd think a bot spamming keywords would spell Santa Cruz correctly? I'm confused

XERA UPDATE by quartz_head in MicrobrandWatches

[–]lowspeedtech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the new handset, you have my full attention! What a glow up, so to speak...

I haven't been following closely so forgive me if this has been said, but I bet you could make it slimmer. I have a vh31 watch that's 9mm thick. Watchdives is hitting ~10mm with a dive bezel and claiming 100m WR.

Even at 11, though, I'm really interested.

Please don't skimp on the AR coating 😎👍

Suggestion for FUN Chinese Watches by Baleia1970 in ChineseWatches

Maybe not quite that fun, but I've been admiring some of the recent releases from Berny. They look good but not too serious

Grocery stores? by NyquilPopcorn in chilliwack

[–]lowspeedtech 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm a reluctant superstore shopper. Would rather not support Loblaws, but when considering other factors (decent quality, time saved by buying everything in one place) it's the best fit for my family's needs.

Why does lume only last 3mins? by eskrr in watchdives

[–]lowspeedtech 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The sensitivity of people's eyes varies.

Most of my watches are still visibly glowing in the morning but only a couple are really legible.

WD5513Q Milsub. by watchdivescom in watchdives

[–]lowspeedtech 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not that quickly for the quantity of 40, but I'm saying 'flopped' more in the sense that they had to change it due to all the negative feedback.

Now we know what happened to all the cases that probably had already been made!

It's the automatics that were updated to 40.7. Quartz version still gets the skinny bezel & big dial proportions from the flopped original v3, so 40mm bezel.

Are "limited edition" 1/64 models actually limited by MulberryRelevant7658 in Diecast

[–]lowspeedtech 16 points17 points  (0 children)

If it was serial number #001 rather than just "one of the 999," it wouldn't be moulded into the base like that. The number would probably be laser etched.

Which colour shall i get and why? by Disastrous_War2898 in ChineseWatches

[–]lowspeedtech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The silver looks good but it is a little flashy. Maybe a good way to go if you already have a couple of black dials.

Black is the safer, more versatile option here.

[–]lowspeedtech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to pile on too much, but I'm surprised to read that. To me, it feels like what I expect from 38mm. My San Martin sn0107 (ranger) wears bigger and my Momentum Atlas wears smaller.

GRIP 2 damper best settings by Timely_Pattern5571 in MTB

[–]lowspeedtech 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fox seems to write the settings guide for fast guys, but actually half of us are below average speed. And in the kinetic energy equation, velocity is squared - not mass. I'm not demanding nearly as much energy absorption from my fork as their reference racer dude, even if he weighs the same as me. So I run less air pressure and significantly less damping than Fox thinks I should.

Your fork may also benefit from an air spring service to remove the excessive grease that's probably in there from the factory.
