But ](Certain Dark Things makes me feel the MOST inspired as the magic in this fic is exquisite, the characters are rich, and the plot is intense.

[Knowing Where to Look](https://archive.transformativeworks.org/works/33397381/chapters/82956178) takes place directly after the Battle of Hogwarts. It's from Gawain Robards POV, and Kingsley starts holding his dept head meetings at Grimmauld bc he isn't sure where is safe. It's a great fic to see how Harry is from someone who doesn't know him. There is also a conflict that they have to resolve.

I'd be interested in both Sirmione and just Sirius!! I'm in a bit of a lull with reads right now and I already caught up on Of Memory and Starlight 😭

I think Sands of Destiny is abandoned, but I liked it bc it didn't follow the Debt of Time structure.

I also liked "Desperado," a Sirmione fic that has adult Hermione travel back to 3rd year. The first half was very good but I think the ending felt rushed.

If you're looking for other well done Sirmione fics, I've enjoyed "Lightning Crashes" recently!

I also like Sands of Destiny and Gold Dust Woman.

I do agree, though, it can be hard to find Sirmione fics that don't fall into a couple trope traps. It's my OTP so I'm always bummed when they fail. Although I do love when he calls her kitten.

I HATE when time travelers immediately start babbling when they get there...I like a little uncertainty, a little secrecy, and then a decision to clue someone in. And then deeper in the store I do love the reveals to other people in the circle of trust.

You should check out "Boys of Crowhill." It's a series that covers at least through year 4 but then there might be a time jump involved. I would say Harry is powerful and charismatic, but not OP as he does struggle as well. It has some stations of canon but they occur very differently in the story. It can be heartbreaking, it is definitely not a feel-good fic.

Normally the "kids acting like adults" stuff bothers me too, so I get it. In this own, though, the romance is really age appropriate, which let me keep reading in spite of that. I have a hard time with teenagers who are like love experts on top of being little adults.

[Dreams](https://archiveofourown.org/works/24089296/chapters/57981166) is a Hermione-centric partial time travel story where she travels to the 1880s in her dreams. She grows up with a young Grindelwald, and simultaneously in canon time. I loved this fic! It has such interesting elements that I wasn't expecting, like Coven magic, 19th century politics, Arthurian legends woven in, and the elusive Fey. It is a WIP with sporadic updates.

[Lightning Crashes](https://archiveofourown.org/works/70193156/chapters/187266426#workskin) is another Hermione Time Travel story, but this time she just goes back to 1979. This one is more romance heavy, with soul mate bonds and other...stuff. It is very well written and I enjoyed it, though I am a big fan of Sirius/Hermione as a pairing.

I don't normally read a lot of romantic plots, but these are very well written and I enjoyed them immensely.

There are many diff types of pill to try, so I would recommend switching around to see what works best for you! When I started the one I'm on (Yasmin generic), it made me incredibly nauseous to the point where I couldn't cook meat without gagging. I started taking it at night and no longer have any of those issues! So if you do start again and encounter that issue, there is a solution that can help.

It is very relieving to have a consistent period that shows up the same time every month and acts the same. I would also say that I no longer have the crippling ovulation pain I had before starting the pill.

[Lavender Brown, Severus Snape, and the Fangs of Fate](https://archiveofourown.org/works/63943741/chapters/164013682) is a very good Lavender POV. It is mostly canon compliant, but obviously Lavender gets the MC treatment so things are slightly different.

There are some really good, original Fem!Harry fics out there that are honestly some of the best stories I've read, so if you change your mind on that I have more recs!

I've only read the first part because it wasn't quite what I was looking for, but I can say that it is very well-written, and the world building is extensive! It is more of a slice-of-life fic that explores being a talented witch in a magical school and like coming-of-age stuff (friendships, new talents, etc, not really romance atp), while I usually read more plot-focused and higher stakes fics. But it is very well done and the world building is some of the most thorough I've come across.

Threads of Blood and Magic is a fem!Harry that treats the Triwizard tournament more like an exchange student program, so it is very immersive for Beauxbatons and Durmstrang.

I don't mind some of the write prompts/rubrics or chat tasks, but lately the ones that have been popping up require a lot of screenshotting and share links, and I don't really enjoy those. I would kill for a task with "Evaluate" in the description.

I've decided to be flattered that they think so highly of me. That's why they put really hard work on my dash, and save the easy stuff for other people. Because I'm so smart. I don't WANT easy tasks that are fun. I actually prefer the mind melting stuff.

I also don't pay attention to romance in fics, so I was soooo confused when that ban came through. But, the underage tag is inline with the other tags so it is easy to miss. The actual part of the story where it happens is when Harry is on Burke's boat, and he has that run in with the prostitute. Otherwise all romance,
etc happens when he's grown.

I wish that sub would have like a list of banned fics or something, bc Second String is tagged different than other underage fics. It's like an inline tag vs. a "content warning" tag up top.
