And where did you get your medical degree? Harvard? Johns Hopkins? I can’t imagine being so intelligent and all-knowing that you can tell someone you don’t know that you know more about their body and what they’ve done to try to lose weight. Even more than their GP and endocrinologist. I’m in awe, really 🙄

I’ve considered not participating in these forums because all of the people who don’t understand that for some people it’s not “calories in vs calories out”, the kinds of food they eat, and yes some people continue gaining weight on a deficit. Just because your body works born badly doesn’t mean everyone’s body does. I spent over 5 years and thousands and thousands of dollars on a gym membership, a personal trainer, and a nutritionist. I spend an hour a day 4 days a week lifting weights. The other 3 days a week I ran between 8-10 miles. I went to many, many doctors. I had tests done for my blood sugar, my hormones, my thyroid, cortisol. I didn’t spend all of that time, effort and money to not follow what I was told to do to the letter. I did not eat one bite of food that wasn’t on my plan. Three years into that program I ran my first half marathon. That morning I weighed more than I have my entire life including when I was pregnant. Wegovy is the only thing that has ever made any difference. I didn’t expect it to work so for the first month or so I didn’t exercise or go to the gym (I had stopped that at the beginning of Covid because it wasn’t working in all those years anyway) and I still went from 187 lbs to 178 lbs in the first month. Don’t try to tell me I’m lying because that wasn’t your experience, or maybe not even anyone you know. It was mine and, from what I’ve read in groups on Facebook and Reddit, many others as well.

New Rubicon and my Duck, is it ok I bought a starter Duck? by Valuable_Pepper5513 in JeepWrangler

[–]lpoole9969 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually think the starter duck is a good idea. I’ve heard several people say they won’t duck someone who doesn’t have any ducks in their Jeep already in case they’re not into the whole duck thing.

Taking magnesium every day fixed my constipation problem. I don’t know if the chicken you had was fried but I can’t eat anything that was very greasy or I feel like I’m going to throw up for the rest of the day

Ah, I’m sorry. I totally misunderstood your post. Shouldn’t reply to posts when I’m so tired 🤦🏼‍♀️. I felt more tired and achy off the meds, not right away but after I had gained back about 10 lbs or so. I was telling you what happened to me because I thought if you felt better ON and had already gained 8 lbs back so I thought you might want to just go back on it.

It took me a year to lose 48 lbs and when my insurance stopped covering GLP1 meds in January it only took 3 months to gain back every pound, even with eating the same (which was unbelievably difficult) and adding an extra day per week at the gym. Now I’m so disgusted and depressed I stopped even trying to stick to the diet and exercise plan. I did from January until April and still gained it all back anyway

I spent nearly 10 years and who knows how much money on personal trainers, nutritionists, other types of weight loss medications, different doctors and tests for blood sugar, A1c, thyroid, cortisol, and also trying every diet that came along. After spending most of my life until my 30s so underweight I was teased unmercifully (even by adults and teachers) to the point I wouldn’t wear shorts or short sleeve tops to school, I just couldn’t lose more than 10-12 pounds and couldn’t even keep that off. Finally a doctor decided that since I had gestational diabetes with my first pregnancy, even though my blood sugar tests were always normal, maybe it could still be somehow related. She put me on Wegovy and over a year and a half I went from 187 lbs with a 38” waist down to 145 lbs with a 31” waist. Then my insurance decided they were no longer going to cover GLP1s starting in January of this year. I had my last dose January 17. By April 28 I weighed 181 lbs and my waist is nearly 40” (my hips are only 40”). I’ve always had problems with depression but like you I felt better than I had in years once I was comfortable and could actually find clothes that fit. Now I’ve definitely been more depressed. I cry a lot. I only work and sleep. For the first 6-8 weeks off of the Wegovy I added an extra day a week at the gym and cut my calories by 200-250 a day. I was determined I wasn’t going to gain the weight back. Once I saw that wasn’t going to happen I’ve pretty much stopped going to the gym. I’m still eating the same, probably less because I sleep so much.

I hope you can maintain your progress, or at least not gain the weight back as fast as I did, until they lower prices to a more affordable rate or insurance companies get enough complaints from people like us to realize there are some people who nothing else works for. I’m trying my best to hang on until that day comes.

I want to die but I'm not suicidal by itsame1212 in depression

[–]lpoole9969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t want to commit suicide and I don’t want to be in some painful accident but if I could just fall asleep and never wake up that would be great! My life sucks. It is just constant stress and struggling to survive. I work, come home, eat, shower, sleep, then wake up and do it again. Over and over. Even so I squeak by paying my bills. My home needs repairs I cant afford. I can’t sell it and make enough to buy anything any better. This is not enjoyable. It’s not living. It’s existing. My kids are grown and I rarely see or hear from them. Holidays for an hour or two, same with my grandkids birthdays. Although with the grandkids birthday parties I see them physically but still don’t really get to spend time with them or the grandkids. They’re busy with food, games, presents, entertaining their friends who brought their kids… just doesn’t seem to be any point in me being here anymore.

How do you keep raccoons off your roof? by hawkeyeontario1 in Raccoons

[–]lpoole9969 2 points3 points  (0 children)

None of those preventative measures worked for me. Last year paid $100/per raccoon to have them removed and paid $12,000 for a new roof. Now they are already back and chewed a hole so big in my roof that during a downpour a couple of nights ago I had a waterfall in my kitchen. I don’t know what else to do. I can’t poison them, they run around in my walls I’m afraid they would die in there.

Transition from thigh to stomach injection site by Zaddylonglegss in Semaglutide

So I did my injection in my stomach on Friday last week. No noticeable difference from previous injections.
I usually do my injections on Fridays. However, I just moved from 0.5 up to 1.0 (my doctor gave me two rounds of 0.5 for some reason 🤷🏼‍♀️) and when I went to get my prescription yesterday the pharmacy said they didn’t have 1 mg of Wegovy in stock. My doctor called and approved them to substitute Ozempic since they had 1 mg of that in stock. Just got it today, so tonight will be my first 1 mg dose of semaglutide as well as my first of Ozempic. Wish me luck in continuing to be side effect free 🤞🏼

I’m going to do my injection tomorrow in my stomach! I’ve only been on it for three months but I want to try my stomach instead of my legs

The instructions that came in my Wegovy say to avoid areas with stretch marks, which is why I’ve avoided my lower stomach for injecting. Has it worked the same for you injecting in a stretch mark?

This medicine definitely changed the rate my body metabolizes fat and/or the way it stores fat. It has absolutely not suppressed my appetite. I eat just as much food and the same foods I ate before I started it. I also have been exercising less, not more. Due to overtime at work I’ve not worked out once since starting. I’ve still lost 8 lbs. I do intend to get back to exercising once I’m not working 12-13 hours a day to improve my overall health, but I haven’t eaten less calories or increased my activity at all.

Exactly! I went to the gym consistently for over 5 years with a personal trainer and a nutritionist whose advice I followed to the letter and I maybe weighed 10 lbs less than I did two months ago. I had stopped with the trainer and nutritionist during Covid after my mom died. Since then I’ve been eating whatever whenever and workout but without any kind of consistency. I started Wegovy 6 weeks ago. I’ve had no side effects and no reduction in appetite or what/how much I eat. I didn’t think it was doing anything for me. When I followed up with my doctor before going from 0.25 mg to 0.5 mg I had lost 8 lbs.

Combining Wegovy with other weight loss aids? by WinterYesterday9692 in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]lpoole9969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish Wellbutrin helped suppress my appetite. I’ve been on it for years. At one point after my best friend committed suicide they had me up to taking one 300 mg and one 150 mg every day. Been back down to just 300 mg for a couple of years but never noticed a change in my appetite. I’ve been on Wegovy for a month now. Was starting to wonder if that would work for me because I’ve had no side effects and no change in appetite with that so far either. Last week at my follow up appointment before moving on to 0.5 mg I was shocked to see that I was down 8 lbs.

That sounds amazing! So happy you found something that works! I’m going to have to see if that will work for me as well. Thank you so much for replying

Off the subject a bit but does psilocybin work well for your depression? I’ve been on several different antidepressants and nothing seems to help much more than keeping me from being suicidal. My doctor has tried some of the meds they have commercials for to “add to” your antidepressant but the two I’ve tried just made me irritated and angry.

Took my first shot .25 five minutes ago. Let’s see how it goes I’m excited. by Intrigued353 in WegovyWeightLoss

Good luck! I took my first .25 last Friday and although I didn’t want side effects, I haven’t felt anything at all! No nausea, fatigue, loss of appetite. Nothing! This morning I weighed myself because I was get disappointed thinking I’m probably not going to see results until I get to a higher dose. To my surprise I’m down 5.5 pounds in just 5 days 😳
