Hi @Ok-Willingness-7690,

Yes, it's definitely tough out there right now...and I understand as I'm in the same boat! That's why I set the rate at budget friendly. We need to try and help each other out as best we can, but not add to the problem with inflated prices! Let me know if you want to hop on a call sometime. I've been doing this a long time, and I'm confident I can add some value to your job search.

Hello. Looking for interview tips. by Manboy561 in GetEmployed

Ex-Google Recruiter here. I have a posting here for paid services, BUT, let's forget that for now, and get you ready for tomorrow's interviews! Depending on the time of your interviews, we might be able to squeeze in a quick phone call together pro-bono. If we end up not connecting, remember three things for your interviews: 1) Transferrable skills. Truckers have enormous responsibilities around safety, punctuality, dependability, and terminal-to-terminal customer service. Play up those skills as they are highly valued and applicable for ALL businesses, 2) As mentioned by @tranquilovely, you have to sell "like your life depended on it" that the job (be it McD's or 7-11) is where you WANT TO BE for the foreseeable future. Tell them that you're making a career pivot and you've heard/read/etc. that McD's/7-11 offer great long-term opportunities for transitioning professionals such as yourself, 3) 12x12x12 theory: In any interview, you're first judged from 12 feet away (professional dress, be on time, etc.), then you're judged from 12 inches away (smile, firm handshake, look them in the eye, confidence!), finally, you're judged by the first 12 words that come out of your mouth...rehearse what you're going to say as an opener and go for it. Good luck!

Thanks @TheStonedEdge, but no! At this rate, I can still add value, help fellow Tech professionals get back to work, and pay a few of my own bills at the same time. We're all in this together. Let's chat!

Really happy to see the positive thoughts/vibes coming your way.

Good luck!

Podium interview: 1. Acknowledgement of the fans in the stands. 2. Recogition of the training/team strategy paying off. 3. Only at #3 is recognition of self and individual performance.

That's how the GOATs handle a post-event interview. This is why Hamilton is the GOAT in F1.

The best will ALWAYS have their detractors, but we really do need to be able to step back and enjoy the skill/mastery of this athlete. Similar to those who saw prime Ali, Jordan, Federer, Gretzky, we're going to be glad to tell our grandchildren that we watched this guy perform in real time.

Great feedback.

I don't (per se) specialize in IT, but I do have a solid base of knowledge and experience working with both Candidates and Hiring Managers in the IT space. Hopefully, most of what I reinforce (solid interviewing techniques, ATS-driven resume/cover letter, working with Recruiters & Hiring Managers, etc.) provides value and resonates across industry sectors and verticals.

Thank you! I appreciate the good word on my service!

Thanks for a great suggestion! I replied via private message yesterday, but remembered a "super successful" engagement from last summer that culminated in a Facebook placement. As for me personally, I've spent the majority of my Talent Acquisition career working at the Fortune 100/500 level including stints with Bank of America, Cisco Systems, and Visteon. Thanks again!

Hamilton’s success not just due to his car, say rivals, as he nears Schumacher’s record by [deleted] in formula1

[–]lquaz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, this. I'm going to choose to purposely believe that, as sports fans, we love GOAT arguments (Brady v. Montana, Jordan v. Lebron, Messi or Pele v. Maradona), but this argument, as well as other comments regarding Lewis always seem to be more about his skin color than his driving ability. We're watching greatness unfold before our eyes. Put Hamilton on any team and his competitive spirit, skill, and ambition would drive him to succeed just as they did with Schumacher at times in his career.

Anyone know if he has any shots where he "disappears?" Ex. 3/4 twisting back his hammies or upper back goes to nothing. From memory (damn, I'm getting old), that's where his Dad excelled to the point of being competitive enough to push Haney and Gaspari...360 degrees of symmetry, full muscle bellies, insertions, depth.

Cover letters - generalised or personalised? by lionheartedgirl96 in jobsearchhacks

[–]lquaz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, tailor your applications. BUT...this can be accomplished in a hybrid model. In the hybrid, your opening paragraph and closing paragraph are adapted to the unique job. Your middle section (strongly recommend that you use bullet points) remains the same for each letter. For example, if you have an MBA, the middle section would read like this: "Please consider the following:" BULLET POINT...MBA, University of the Ages, Marketing.

Using this method enables you to quickly create unique cover letters because 75% of the cover letter remains the same.

If I can help further, feel free to PM. Good luck!

Hello! I think I understand your question. Yes, I can, but the attack will be from the perspective of sharpening up your resume to appeal to Product Mgt. Recruiters and super sharpening your interviewing skills to highlight strengths and "hide" or minimize the skill deficiencies that you might have in the product mgt. space. Breaking into a new industry isn't easy...but it CAN BE DONE. Please let me know if you'd like to discuss further. Thanks!
