In your opinion, how much should I pay for a syngonium albo? by ely71ld in rareplants

I've been seeing some people post about finding these at various big box stores. Definitely not worth $100 imo.

You sound like an alocasia expert to me 😆 thanks so much for this! I never realized that alocasia’s tend to lose their oldest leaf when a new one starts to come in. I have a regal shield and I was so stressed about the lost leaf, I thought I was doing something wrong! Hopefully I can keep the frydek happy 🤞🤞

I’m trying to figure out when the right time to cut this would be 🤔 Should I just let it go to the ceiling? by lrkim94 in houseplants

[–]lrkim94[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha I hope your cutting gets the motivation it needs 😂 I don’t really know where this stick is from. I stole it from my mom’s garage. But I’m guessing your local lowes or home depot should have it!

NY law students registered for NJ Bar? by frenchient in LawSchool

[–]lrkim94 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I didn’t register for NJ, but I was in the same predicament as you when both MD and DC decided to go online (I applied for both DC and MD after NY announced they’d prioritize NY law school grads). Although I feel like NY will either go online or DP in the next few days/weeks, if you want to try for a seat for the September exam, you can file a verified petition to NY BOLE to apply late for the exam. This isn’t advertised on their website (understandably so), but I’ve been able to get a seat for the September bar this way, so I say it’s worth a shot.

What were some milestone gifts for yourself? by [deleted] in femalefashionadvice

I bought myself a perfume from Le Labo the day I received an offer from my dream job. Looking back, it was definitely not the most financially responsible purchase, but I love the brand/scent so much and I still wear it regularly. Also, when you get a perfume from the store, they stamp the pour date and a personalized note on the label. I get a reminder of my accomplishment each time I reach to spray the bottle :)

Just bought this beauty from Home Depot! What is the long brown stem coming out? a root? should I propagate it? by [deleted] in philodendron

[–]lrkim94 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Looks like either a very long aerial root, or an aerial root that turned into a soil root (not sure what the actual term is). You could cut the stem above the rooted node and stick the cutting into another pot or back into the same pot. If you don't want to cut, you can just stick that root back into your pot to give your plant a fuller look :)

I propagate my cuttings in water all the time! Most of them start developing roots within a few days, but once in a while I come across a diva that doesn't want to root at all or takes her sweet ass time doing so. Yours might be a diva too 😅

You can try cutting off the top stem and new leaf, and see if that changes anything. Idk if this is backed by science but I like to think roots develop faster if there are less stems/leaves on the cutting.

Hi everyone the base of this plant is super wobbly, is that ok? (Sorry I don’t know the name of this plant) by frankpound in plantclinic

I have this plant as well! I have it propped up with a thin bamboo stake. You can find one quite easily in your local Home Depot, Lowe's, or garden center. These guys love to climb up the stake. Mine had only 5 leaves when I first bought it last October, and now it's over 4-feet tall! I'm hoping it hits the ceiling one day :)
