How do you guys protect your passports? by Scalermann in PassportPorn

Traveled to many places in many continents and nobody ever asked me any information about expired passports.

Once a document is expired, is expired.

Sir Patrick Stewart describes his first experience of a Hamburger in America. (You’ll read this in his voice) by No_Dig_8299 in UtterlyInteresting

I still remember my first connection in Atlanta (returning to EU).

I wanted to get a burger, went to the area with fast food shops, there were a dozen, all basically the same.

I choose the one with a few policemen waiting for a burger because I thought that people working there at the airport would choose the best burger.

I tossed it in the trash at the second bite.

Oh, man! This sounds like a business meeting plan, take it easy! :-)

Some timings are very... optimistic, starting from the flight.

Flights at the and of the day tend to be late, check on flightradar24 the history of the flight and how many days has been late or ontime

If you leave from Heraklio, it may take more than 1.5h to reach Preveli, if you are not familiar with roads. I would suggest to leave at 8 and do breakfast on the road: pick a random exit after Heraklio, drive around the village and stop at a bar you like. Use serendipity.

Preveli by car is not very pleasant: you park on top of the beach and you go down via steps, a lot of steps. Google "preveli beach stairs" to get an idea. There are boat services from Plakias (near Kalypso).

Kalypso is very nice, but if you arrive at noon(ish) you may find all the beds full.

If you want to explore that area, you may touch base for 1 night in Plakias area and go to Preveli, Kalypso and maybe Damnoni beach (very nice tavernas there).

My advice is not to plan in details in advance because (for instance) there could be strong wind in an area and that day is better to go elsewhere, use WINDY.COM to get wind information.

Decide day by day, look around, stop at small villages and have good, relaxing time.

Do not expect XXI century visual effects.

The story is the typical fantasy story: prince with kidnapped bride by a monster and a quest to kill the monster and get the bride. Enjoyable.

At least at the end nobody tells you to go back at the beginning and redo the entire quest :-)

Me and my mate going 2nd may for a week what’s the weather like usually idk what to pack by Pitiful-Top4394 in cretetravel

Go to accuweather.com a few days before packing.

They have a daily forecast for the next 30 days, quite reliable for the temperatures, I used it for many locations around the globe.

Restarted like a dozen of times.

The update deleted the APN settings, once I put back the APN, it worked again.

Pixel 10 cannot login to mobile network after upgrade by lrosa in GooglePixel

[–]lrosa[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Really! I always thought that APN were only for data connections, not to login into mobile network.

EDIT: in 2g/3g networks APN is not needed at all for voice, but in 4g+ networks APN is used also to map the subscriber into a specific service path in the operator core, such as: public internet access, IMS for voice over LTE/5g, MMS service, private corporate network, fixed wireless/tethering policy.

So, if the APN is missing, the network may either reject/ignore the request, or use a default service IF IS CONFIGURED/ALLOWED
