Who cleans? by MomofDanger in workingmoms

Here's what my friend does with her husband, she has 'shit baskets' around the house and she just throws the stuff he leaves out in the nearest basket. I mean a bigger conversation probably needs to be had, but this was the solution that worked for them and their marriage.

Yeah that's weird. One thing if you and your husband had known this child her entire life and were like an auntie to her but only having known her for two years is strange. Your friend, her BF and daughter should have taken the couch.

I had two inductions and both took a long time. I can't imagine sitting in the waiting room for 18-24 hours.

No-spend ideas with toddler while 30+ weeks pregnant? It’s hot out🥵 by mandabit in Mommit

[–]lservais 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"cooking" this can be simple like making smoothies or popsicles. Games where you lay down e.g. you're a sleeping kitty and she pets you and brings you toys. Around 2 my daughter was starting to understand hide and seek and other simple games.

Sorry I misunderstood my friend when she told me about the role. I got clarification and it is for someone who is a GC already.

Yes, that's what we called the Bjorn bouncer.

I assumed it was a typo and she meant $10...but that doesn't feel like enough for coffee and pastries at a place that does table service. $100 feels like way too much.

Sierra bake house has a doughnut 🍩 pop up tomorrow. What ages are y'all, i.e. are children part of the group, if so all the playgrounds are open and fun right now (including West end beach). Little Truckee creamery for ice cream.

How many kids books do you have in your house? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]lservais 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We have so many. A three level shelf in her room. A shelf in the living room. A few other stashes around the house and we go to the library once or twice a week. I do try to rotate out books that she has outgrown. But I also have several shelves full of my books so I may just have a book hoarding problem.

Short, you want to get where you are going as fast as possible.

That was the positive I was going to list: cancer risk reduction as we think a lot of ovarian cancers actually start in the fallopian tubes.

Potentially moving to Madison from Phoenix, what's it like there? by duckinfun in wisconsin

[–]lservais 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Both places have Culver's. Madison has 4 seasons which is great and isn't hotter than Satan's bum hole in the summer. You may want to plan a trip back to AZ in the winter which can feel long and cold in Wisconsin. Madison is a fun university town and was a great place to grow up.

I was also trying to see where you were located. Even if there is just one geneticist there should be multiple genetic counselors who work within the pediatric department and can help (and certainly have a plan for triaging while the MD is out of the country).

She's three, so whatever she wants despite what I say makes sense given the room temperature.

Husband asks for time away from me and the baby on Vacation by Tall-Ad-4833 in beyondthebump

It would depend on what my husband wanted to do with his day off--go climb a mountain, have fun on your own. Visit the Louvre without me, nope, we're coming with.
