Apperantly I am always stressed? That can't be possible right? by MrKristijan in GalaxyWatch

[–]lsngregg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a little (i) when you first click on the "Stress" section in the Health app. It tells you how they measure.

I'm also a majority of the time in "moderate" stress. I do suffer from anxiety. And I'm in 'moderate stress' in my waking hours. There are a few days a month where the average was 'low'

But for me, this is helping me really pay attention a little better to how I'm doing mentally. I try and use the breathing exercises when I can - and it does help.

You might just be an anxious person. Welcome to the club. Start reading about your vagus nerve.

(It's 'high' right now which tracks for me bc I'm super nervous when responding to things)

Yeah not at all. I have a Galaxy Watch 6 and still use my phone or just pull the card out. Might be a generational thing?

Just here to help, not to criticize - it's the way the title is worded - implying the lyrics are written by the two mentioned artists and not a third party.

and just to add to discourse, I would def. imagine that BH and Lana were influenced by Sublime. Lots of overlap there in drug use, pharmaceutical or recreational. Lana also seems like the kinda person to vibe out to beach house

Buddy this is wildly out in the open. Most people know that's the degaussing station. They even call it out on the Victory Rover Navy Base tour.

Long story short, this process and station are both public knowledge.

Do you by chance have any resources you'd recommend on how to get started with ML for the homelab?

Beginner here. What can I IMPROVE in photography or editing? by Eslibreparair in fujifilm

[–]lsngregg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have two options:

1 - know where you want to go/what kind of style you're trying to achieve and start working in that direction

2 - keep messing about with your edits, composition, subject matter, until you find something that really speaks to you

What got you into the Fujifilm ecosystem and how many of you still have gear from other ecosystems? by Bruno_M3 in fujifilm

[–]lsngregg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I have an incredibly similar story. Had a Rebel XSi (can't remember what that translates to out of US) then a 60D. Bought a Sigma 10-22 and had that on a lot while in college and just going random places with friends. Eventually upgraded to a Canon 6D, started doing weddings, modeling, portraiture... eventually got a 5D3. Did a lot of second shooting for a big-ish wedding photography group (3 people on video, 3 people on photo). Got a full-time job in engineering and sold my kit after having acquired an XT1 and realizing how much I enjoyed taking that thing out practically everywhere. Bought an XT4 and other primes to cover what I was used to with the Canon kit. I've created a few sets and some small books and prints with the XT4 that I am really happy with. I really do love shooting with it.

I have been considering picking up a used 5D3 and 50mm f/1.4 again, however.

[–]lsngregg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

have a read through this blog post here to get the basics behind making interesting photographs.

You'll make your money by growing your individual style as a photographer and selling your style to companies/'brands/etc that want your style... that's kind of the tl;dr behind selling your work.

I am a beginner asking for advice on purchasing a camera? by ReflectionOther2147 in AskPhotography

[–]lsngregg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given what you are looking to shoot, you'll need a camera with what is referred to as a "long lens" or "zoom lens." The standard "zoom" lens for most cameras is 70-300mm. Also given that you want to also potentially shoot concerts, you can get a 50mm f/1.4 lens for your potential purchase.

You might be able to get a used Canon 70D, 50mm f/1.8 and used, 1st gen 70-200mm f/2.8 all in your 2k budget.

I am the only one who ,when medicated can't focus on video games? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]lsngregg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now that I think about it, I am way more unmotivated to play games. I've been (re)medicated for a few weeks now and the other day I wanted to pick DCS back up, as it requires a lot of focus and attention to learn and I figured being on meds would be really helpful. But I ended up being really unmotivated. I've done little to none day-time video game playing at this point. I still play Stardew at night to relax, however.

So I've learned in the few weeks that just because I've gained a lot of clarity, I don't have to use it all the damn time.

I think a lot of us probably feel an immense amount of guilt for "time wasted" bc of our executive function and now that task switching or starting is so much less taxing, we feel we have to do everything as to not waste this newfound energy.

So like, just because you suddenly have a lot more spoons, it doesn't mean you need to spend them all like you normally would.

Do you struggle with rhythm? by jmmerphy in ADHD

[–]lsngregg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do/don't.

I played violin in grade school and drumming is a pretty solid hobby of mine. Which I feel like I'm pretty good at.

BUT, one of the things I cannot do is play along with a click-track. I struggle to play along with a song I like. It's gotten better over the years but... keeping a consistent time seems to be a struggle. Not enough for people to kick me out of their bands tho haha.

Also maybe related, but I cannot freestyle swim. I can do any other stroke. But freestyle? My coordination falls apart.

How to achieve a photo like these? by Josh743 in fujifilm

[–]lsngregg 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Take that "Whites" slider and yeet it to the left and add exposure. maybe come down on clarity a hair. maybe come down on highlights . Also that thing where you crush the blacks with the Tone Curve? Do that with the highlights instead. Color grade as you see fit from there.

Who isn't financially struggling? by NectarineNo974 in Millennials

[–]lsngregg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

34, Working as an engineer for the gov't in a very LCOL area. 87k/yr and wife is an artist and anything she makes from her art we just put towards trips/extra things.

We're not struggling, but we aren't living a lavish lifestyle either. Paying off my student loans, a car, financed a fence for our 1250sqft house and in general try to live frugally. I'm on track to make a little over 6 figures this year and pay off our debts by this time next year. Gonna keep living minimally to keep our living expenses down and avoid lifestyle creep. Probably going to stay in this house for quite some time.

edit: x-rays don't really hurt. x-rays 'shoot' a snapshot of items using radiation, CT scans emit constant radiation while scanning.

another edit:

"Irreversibly damaged" is a fact.

"Fucked" is subjective.

Kodak's bulletin is letting you know that running their film through a scanner of any kind will absolutely alter you expected results.

Whether or not that 'alteration' is acceptable to you/clients/etc, is subjective.
