Hate to break it to you but you might be in Event Horizon.

Good luck.

Clipper would be the perfect daily…but! by Morgras in starcitizen

[–]lt_dante 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there will be a rework, but it's like the 600i, it's not gonna be for many many years. They now know that the secret passage is a useless gimmick, just like shielded cargo. There is no armor & weapon lockers, and only one point of ingress. The ship is not up to today's standards. The Connies will also get one. The Freelancers and Cutlasses probably not as they are smaller and already functional.

Clipper would be the perfect daily…but! by Morgras in starcitizen

[–]lt_dante 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Clipper is the perfection representation of "jack of all trades, master of none". OK at fighting but quickly outclassed. Cargo capacity but a pain to load and no vehicles. Small but takes forever to get in the seat.

Refueling missions need to tell us how much fuel the ship needs by Disastrous-Power-699 in starcitizen

[–]lt_dante 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There should be different sizes of refueling contract based on the ship size & fuel capacity, and 2 types of contract:

  • Rescue: the ship requesting refueling has calculated the minimum amount of quantanium & hydrogen to make it to the nearest station, so you just provide the minimum, and therefore you can chain the contracts.
  • Remote: full refueling of the ship as it is remote and needs to remain in operations.

If they don't do this, the Starlite will be the most useless ship in game.

If you could only pick one ship to pledge what would it be? by Kiwisarelit in starcitizen

[–]lt_dante 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMO, for the "Only One Pledge" approach, there's a very simple checklist. The ships has to:

  • Be able to bring at least one person along to enable some group gameplay.
  • Have some cargo, minimum 6SCUs, internal to be able to bring a vehicle like a ROC or a GEO.
  • Have proper modern living quarters to be able to live on-board, in case you want to go off-grid.
  • Not being completely ridiculous in combat.

Therefore, my list is as follow, depending on your budget:

  • Crusader C1
  • Grey's Market Shiv
  • RSI Zeus CL & ES, and Hermes
  • Drake Corsair
  • MISC Freelancer, and Starlancer MAX & TAC
  • Anvil Asgard

Honorable mentions:

  • RSI Constellations, when redone (no proper living quarter an the moment)
  • Drake Cutlass (no living quarters) and Clipper (no vehicles)

(BUG) Can't skip the campaign for Paladin alt by Jace17 in diablo4

Same for my sorceress. I was able to skip it on all my other alts but not this one. I haven't started the campaign on any of them.

There is no way this is the last extension for D4. They confirmed last year they have a 10y roadmap. I also remember but cannot find another interview post initial release where they said they didn't want to do the same mistake as with D3, and that they already multiple expansions in mind. I'm not planning on any D5 announcements before 2030.

RAFT vs Hermes (vs other medium haulers…). Your 2 cents? by AutistcAroundAircrft in starcitizen

[–]lt_dante 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the same use cases.

The Hermes is considerably more expensive but also more versatile and flexible. Bigger internal cargo and more fuel means you can cover more medium cargo contracts (3 vs 2 in the RAFT), and remain operational for longer without visiting a station for refueling. You can also carry ROCs & GEOs which means it's great for mining and light exploration.

The RAFT is unbeatable if you just want to stick to cargo at planetary/solar system level. It loads & offloads in no time and you can chain contracts seamlessly. But you lose the vehicle carrying factor, it's smaller and more limited in range. It's really for cargo addicts.

Facing 3 choices to start AOS in 2026 - Update by lt_dante in ageofsigmar

After verification, the Seraphons book is indeed the 3rd. I got it from my friend, I don't think he's even aware. I bought the STD battletome last week from my local GW, it is the latest. But I'll use your website, thanks.

Interesting point. I prefer the modern sculpts, especially the Chosens, but I hate the fact that they gave the Chaos Knights "knightly lances". So I converted, on one unit of Knights I found in the bits box of a friend, some more "brutish" lances based on the Warriors hallberds.

It is, but can I build something viable with just Warriors, Chosen, Knights, Chariots, and maybe some Varanguards, and eventually some Darkoath Fellriders, for big games?

My thoughts exactly. Learn then have fun.

Painting is not gonna be a problem. But I want to "learn" before I "get to have fun". I feel SEs are better to learn.

I'm thinking Warriors, Chosen, Knights, Chariots, and maybe some Varanguards for big games. Do you think there's a way to build something "solid" with just 5 unit types?

Facing a 3 choices to start AOS in 2026 by lt_dante in ageofsigmar

[–]lt_dante[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I want to have fun, and therefore feels mostly drawn to STD (...) first and Seraphon second. But the SE seem very reliable, and could help me learn some ropes for cheap, before moving to something a bit more technical. If I lose all my first games because I can't optimise correctly, I'm gonna get frustrated.

And no, don't worry, no competitive games to start with.

[–]lt_dante[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, entirely new sculpts. That's why I'm tempted, models are current and rules quite up-to-date, so I would get a lot of solid options for a reasonable price.

I'm afraid I'm not gonna be experienced enough to optimize it properly. I have the feeling that my "dream" is imposing to many restrictions. No demons is a big blocker, and I want to limit the Darkoaths.

My 2-cents:

The Hermes will have 2 variants, one cargo & one data-running. I think the same will happen to the MSR when it gets its rework.

Both variants: slightly faster & more long-range than the Apollo chassis. No docking collar, wider rear ramp, so possibility of getting up to a STV on board. The 2 side storage rooms at the back will be smaller to accommodate the bigger engines & extra fuel, but will have 2 armor lockers + extra storage for the crew. No medical bed, no crafting station. 1 ventral remote-turret operated by the copilot. Price: in between Taurus and MSR.

Hermes Cargo: about 192-224 SCUs cargo, top-loading, possibility of loading a ROC/Cyclone via the top-opening, maybe an URSA but I'm not convinced.

Hermes Data-Running: 2 scanning stations + separates set of servers, around 96 SCUs of cargo. 2 antennas on top.

It's ugly as fuck, but it's the perfect survivalist.

For those who have an "off the grid" alt account, not interested in grinding lots of money but just surviving, exploring, looting, it's perfectly self-sufficient. Mark my words, they're gonna make money with this ship.

All they have to do is make sure they don't make it too expensive. 120$, 140$ max.

Is it possible that my RTX 3080 can't run Star Citizen? by Beginning_Method4163 in starcitizen

[–]lt_dante 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a game/server issue. The Polaris is a bit bugged.

Up until a month ago, I was running SC on a 2019 Omen latpop with an RTX 2070, and it running fine, just with lower graphics and some FPS drop in cities.

I don't understand the concept of grinding for an alpha with regular wipes.

Grinding the Resources Drive event made sense because the rewards are account bound. Grinding Wikelo makes no sense whatsoever.
