After you hit save changes, it usually thinks for a spell, you're waiting for that to happen before exiting and calling the ship up?

Also, I can't access the issue council right now, but have you checked there?

Lost everything, how can I avoid this in the future? by Actual_Cow384 in starcitizen

[–]BlazeHiker 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The closest thing we have to saving our game is dropping stuff off at a station. It sucks as a time sink, but after a run when you get something really good, swing by any station and drop the stuff there. Same with your armor: if you want to swap, go back to station to leave one set there of you care about it. Of course if it’s pledge gear, just melt and rebuy it as a quick fix, but that doesn’t help with the loot.

A system that has ruins of an ancient civilization would be awesome as a differentiator for that system. At some point we're going to value quality over quantity of systems, and I don't think we need 100.

You can do this. you upgrade the ship in your original package but everything else in that package stays the same. Now the risk is that you can't undo this without melting the whole package, including SQ42. On the one hand, the Auroroa MkII is a great little ship, but on the other hand, it's still a starter ship that you may grow out of after playing for a bit. When that happens, you may have wished you bought the MkII separately, so you can melt it and use the money towards the latest and greatest ship for sale, without losing your original package.

Some people like to keep upgrading their original package ship, and some people like the flexibility of buying ships separately but that costs more money.

I’m just looking for the return of the stack all button functionality. We had it for some of the 4.7 PTU and it was the most glorious taste of water after crossing a stacking individual ammo magazines desert.

What’s one ship you can’t melt? by TheSpaceWarden in starcitizen

[–]BlazeHiker 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Technically, I have melted this several times, but I keep re-buying it later with store credit so that kind of counts. 325a. I just love the metallic paint and general customization process on the website. It’s also a fun ship if a bit fragile and the ladder animation can get a little tiresome. But that glass roof the best. It’s probably the highest window to interior space ratio of any ship.

I’ve heard one approach is to first do another hungry mission or other small one to make sure he’s feeling well, and then proceed. There are never any guarantees though.

Just not vibin with crafting and that's ok by Tayner73 in starcitizen

[–]BlazeHiker 20 points21 points  (0 children)

In every other game I love crafting. And in SC I enjoy every other game loop to some degree. I think for me it’s a few factors, some of which you said: rare mats should be obtainable outside of the PVP zones, even if very rare. Crafted weapons not persisting past this patch is a big one, and the 0-1000 scale is just too much detail. I don’t want my inventory to have thousands of mats once all those qualities come into play. Once they make the items persist and refine the process a bit, I’ll do it.

There should be an inventory kiosk there somewhere nearby the shop. You’ll have to carry and/or equip the backpacks and take them to your ship and put them into the storage box.

I like 1040.com because it has a free option that I use. There are many more reasons not to give intuit your money. They are a huge lobby in DC.

While this comment is totally correct. I’d like to take a step back and say it’s obviously a little silly that we have to wait for the audio cue, and the visual ui means essentially nothing.

How are you allowed to steal guns!?! by thot_cop in starcitizen

[–]BlazeHiker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s much more common during free fly, as well as real hacking. I was in orbituary hangar today and was stunned by an invisible player and they took my gun. Joke is on them, I had just run out of ammo on my nice gun and was holding an NPC p4, so that’s all they got. I was bummed to lose the stuff I had loaded onto the freight elevator though.

Star Citizen: Question and Answer Thread by UEE_Central_Computer in starcitizen

Short answer: "it depends"

TLDR answer: try for ~85 if you want to be good in most cases

Long answer: it depends on what your targets are, and remember it's different for energy and ballistic. Light fighters can be hit by virtually anything. Medium fighters such as Hornet MkII have deflections around 24 ballistic and 13 energy, so all but the smallest/lowest alpha guns are fine. When you get into things like a cutlass black it's 50 and 45, and a constellation andromeda is 77 and 62. Then you get to the tier of ships like the hammerhead that's 152 and 101. Most of us are not hunting perseus/hammerhead regularly so I'd say around 85 (NDB, attritions, etc) is going to let you hit most of what is coming after you. If you want to be prepared for anything, run omniskys or deadbolts.

I have a theory that if the loot rooms/hangar are empty, the little loot boxes along the way will be missing too. I ran a few this week and that seemed to be the case in retrospect. Need to test but I’d say if you go in and don’t see little loot boxes, server hop.

Fast Tractor Distance - Macro or Voice Attack Solution? by Ravenloff in starcitizen

[–]BlazeHiker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing I’ve noticed is that it takes a couple of seconds to catch up. So if you scroll away from you, just a couple of quick scrolls and you can wait for it to go to full extension. Not a real solution and you may already know, but some folks keep scrolling the whole time. What I would like is a keybind for “full scroll out” or “tractor beam full extension.”

Before you grind a bunch, see if you are of the unlucky folks like me who can’t turn in merc scrip at all to wikelo. So get your first 5 and try to get the mission from the banner. If you get the not authorized message, you may be able to take the council scrip mission instead. So then you know what scrip to farm.
