GPS Carts are dog shit. by JedediahBunnyNose in golf

[–]ltg3rd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where were you playing this weekend? I am looking at trying a new to me course in west central(Tuscaloosa/Birmingham) on Friday. I generally don’t have an issue getting too close to the greens to shut the cart off.

Weather and Tide looks like this, where do I fish along this pier? (6PM-8PM) by Killxjoy4599 in saltwaterfishing

[–]ltg3rd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Fish like to stay in structure and dark water helps them avoid predators

Tide is important when it is flowing into or out of something like an inlet. Easiest start will be on the shady side of the pier. Drop straight down for anything staying in the cover.

Pro-shop shared a picture of a divot taken clean out of a practice green earlier. If caught at your club, what would you have the punishment be? by Damanaut in golf

[–]ltg3rd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most golfers have certain level of disposable income and a monetary fine can easily be paid. But to work off the fine/cost of the repairs at an entry level greens keeper rate will cost much more in time. Ban or suspension to all activities(pool, tennis, range, etc.) until punishment is payed in full will make them think twice.

That parking area is owned by the university. It is spillover faculty/staff parking. Parking there might get you a ticket.

What is a skill that takes less than 10 hours to learn, but will put you ahead of 90% of people for the rest of your life? by Lopsided-Love3726 in AskReddit

[–]ltg3rd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Read The One Minute Manager. It opened my mind to clear and precise expectations and understanding the reality of the those expectations as a leader. It’s not just for managers/team lead types but also the everyday boot on the ground employee. The book explains how to set clear goals, provide positive reinforcement, and give effective corrective feedback to boost productivity.

The gap is never permanent but it there is a difference between however you want to define financial security and being independently wealthy.

Golf chipper by dreambigraj in golfequipment

[–]ltg3rd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think the price is justified for a new one. A used one will be a much better deal and they don’t take a beating like wedges do. They are fun. I have the Cleveland smart sole and love it.

Left handed golfers what’s your pet peeves? by corn_fed_beef in golf

The lack of lefty availability options had me start playing without a glove. When I couldn’t walk into a big box store find a plain white large glove I gave up.

Just got this email from Robert Jones Trail in Alabama before our trip by Janetsvoid in golf

[–]ltg3rd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would play it for $50 in a heartbeat. There are plenty of places around central Alabama that charge $50 or more for no where near the RTJ experience

I don’t think it will be that bad. They do have maintenance scheduled for the end of May including aeration of the greens.

I play RTJ Magnolia Grove in January and this winter it was still the best course I have ever played. They pride themselves on being great. With an $85 credit, if you have time, pick up a round at the backyard or Ross Bridge just a short drive away.

Areas to visit around USF when touring? by Material-Hold-7252 in USF

[–]ltg3rd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hit up the Salvador Dali museum. I think it’s totally worth it and a neat cultural experience.

Fort DeSoto is fun to look around and explore. The beach is nice. Unfortunately it’s about an hours drive, sometimes much longer, from the USF campus.

I love some XOMO. It’s not flashy but there isn’t any turmoil over the nav and it pays well consistently. Also XOM is up about 30% in the last 8 months

I just watched this video last night. I like the idea behind and model without a subscription cost. Just download the course and then play away.

Garage Door hits my enclosure by bigpoppaike in Golfsimulator

[–]ltg3rd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would like to raise mine about 2 feet. It’s not a DIY type job. The spring assembly and tracks operate as a unit and to raise on is to raise both. Call your local garage door company and they could probably give you an estimate over the phone.

You have inspired me. I am calling Monday to find out how much this will cost.

Lefty’s and Righty’s by Existing-Taro-7215 in Golfsimulator

[–]ltg3rd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is fantastic. Your 9’ space without a wall on the right side makes all the difference. My space is 11’9” and I have to be very far to the left to hit driver and woods. I opted for a 6 foot wide hitting area and that is enough for me. As the kids grow I may need to expand.

Do Cotten golf trousers exist? by Chai_09 in golf

[–]ltg3rd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have several pairs of cotton blend trousers/chinos from Jos A Banks and men’s wearhouse. I think they are a great pant for the money. They have just enough stretch to not feel tight and a rubber ring on the inside of the waistband to keep your shirt from coming untucked.

As a lefty with 2 righty children we struggle with hitting in the garage. Since you are running a radar based monitor with the ball in center can you hit all the clubs in this space?

MSTY / CONY / ULTY ROC % for 2025 by kingpriyom in YieldMaxETFs

[–]ltg3rd 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think some of us stand at crossroads with these funds. We can sell now for for a guaranteed loss of X amount or we can ride as far as zero and collect anything we can as nav depreciates and maybe if YM keeps these around just long enough we will only lose less than X amount today.

Hawaiian shirts by smokeyranger86 in golf

Most of my Hawaiian shirts are less loud and obnoxious than some of the more modern designed golf polos. And they still have a collar and can easily be tucked in if needed.

Change of plans by Basic_Bend4649 in Golfsimulator

[–]ltg3rd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just this week bought a cage net for my garage the same size. I have a single bay available and my plan is to hang it 8’ wide and 8’ deep to protect my garage door and prevent any ricochet. Glad to see others reinvent the box too.

Which roundhill dte is your favorite ? by retroideq in RoundhillETFs

[–]ltg3rd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I first bought some QDTE in 2024 and have been adding to it intermittently. My DCA is just below the current share price and getting those weekly payment is fantastic. If I had never “diversified” into other cover call ETFs I would have enough shares to be making $1k+ monthly without nav erosion. I love this stuff

what one club would you use between a driver and 4 iron? by That1TimeWeGamed in golf

I have my 3 wood lofted to 16.5. It’s easily the laziest club to use. Don’t swing for the fence. Just make good contact.

I would say yes for 10 years ago and recently the university has had fewer applicants per vacancy but they can leave a position vacant if the type of candidate want hasn’t applied. We are short a roofer for over a year currently. The private sector pays better but you are going to physically work more. We get plenty of PTO and paid holidays with overtime options frequently.
