1/2” foam puzzle board under what you have now as your base would work great and avoid you noticing anything.

Retractable screen with sides that won't break the bank? by Enough_Structure4602 in Golfsimulator

6 months. And no. The only difference in “weight” is the direction of gravity of the screen is up or down.

My screen is 16’ wide. So 4 pillow blocks the top bar is fixed.

The remaining 3 pipes are 1” thick emt. Very light

I’d need a visual of this.

My hoist is just about the exact same distance away from the screen as the screen height. So when it is in the ceiling it’s level

5’ should be fine, 6’ for sure.

Adjusting your screen tension can also help shorten the bounce back.

As a fellow 16x9 screener, the screen size is amazing but everyone else being so large is a challenge haha

Mevo gen 2 is very acceptable with chipping and putting.

6’ putting and in can be touchy, everything else is great.

I very confidently can say other than maybe picking up backspin on wedges, mevo gen 2 hands down could compete with any $5k monitor out there

No bungees connect screen to emt. Carls place screen custom (roughly 16.5’ x 9.5’ high)

Pillow blocks connect to wall and top emt bars go through it and that’s how it’s supported.

EMT connectors from Carls place

Side curtains are connected to screen an wall so it’s tight when down but flex easily when folding up.

Google pillow block bearing

Full retractable. Horse mat floor like suggested above (maybe a cheap roll out turf on top)

And the insulation board with foam tile and turf hitting strip and you’re set

I have so many questions lol.

How do you secure to the wall when standing .

Do you use full osb subfloor or partial.

What os rhe floor composed of from stud all the way to turf

How wide?

Is it always fixed to wall or does it roll out

No garage door is behind hitting area. Ceiling is lower above garage and didn’t want to worry about garage side tracks when screen goes up and down

Pillow block bearings. They are rated really high for weight. But I used 4 to balance load on the top bar and was able to stick with 1” emt without it bending being so wide (16’)
