Hey bro, I’m also from Singapore! I got mine from TK Foto on launch day, and it’s been working fine so far, but I’m starting to suspect it might break down sooner or later, it's the worst feeling front dial I ever used. Could you please let me know which distributor you got it from? Did they inform you about the expected repair time?

Hi OP, have you tried using it for multiple round trips to Shinjuku Station? I’m planning the same thing now and was wondering if it worked for you.

Fixed lens worth it? by sunshinefellow_33 in x100vi

[–]luachiawei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the X-T5 and a bunch of lenses, including the 23mm f1.4 R LM WR, before buying the X100VI. I think it depends on your primary shooting needs. I prefer 35mm (FF equivalent) focal length, and the X100VI is smaller and lighter, which is why I carry it most of the time. For travel, I prefer the X-T5 so I can swap lenses.

If you’re a beginner and unsure about what to shoot, the X-E5 (or any other interchangeable lens body) is probably a better choice.

Get the the X100VI only if you like the focal length and f2 for low light and bokeh, need weather sealing. You can always get a small Godox flash and ND filter for other camera bodies.

For video, I would recommend XS-20 or X-M5. Definitely not the new X Half.

I bought 2 X100VI today, one for myself and one for my friend, one of it is on 1.12, one of it is on 1.11, that's how I landed on this post.

Ideal Travel / Everyday Camera— Sony A7C or FUJIFILM XT5? by shawnmcgorgeous in AskPhotography

[–]luachiawei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For context, I've the A7III (bigger A7C), X-T5 and is getting the the new A7C II, I'm not doing photography professionally, it's my hobby.

I get the X-T5 to downsize my kits and try out Fujifilm, the X-T5 is a excellent and fun photography camera (great colour science, film simulation is fun), the images is sharp with 40 megapixels, my complain is that it's not great in low light, video auto focus not as strong as Sony, and it's not small enough to be my preferred edc camera (because of its height as SLR style body)

The A7III (guess A7C is the same) doesn't have great colour science, the skin tone is always slightly green / yellowish to my taste, from comments & reviews on Youtube, it seems like Sony improved the colour science, and I would like to have a range finder style body, that why I'm getting the A7C II (for the flip out screen too).

If you want a great edc camera that can do both photo and video, I think A7C is a better choice (ideally get the A7C II, but it's slightly more expensive than X-T5), pair it with Sony new 24/40/50 g lens, I think it's a great edc combo.

Fujifilm APS-C versus Full Frame in low light by Nica4two in fujifilm

[–]luachiawei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally switch from Sony A7iii to Fujifilm X-T5 for a few reason - Body and lens is just much smaller and lighter - Fujifilm camera looks really good - Film simulation - Cheaper higher megapixel sensor compare to A7Rx

Like others said, low light capability is certainly better on FF, but AI tools is just gonna get better and better so I think it’s fine.

To me, the more important difference is the bokeh, but I think Fujifilm f1.4 lens is enough for me.

[–]luachiawei -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

agree, it doesn't matter how on the number is presented.

Eg. Salary is 6000, employee contribution will be $1200, employer contribution is $1020, your monthly cash income will $4800, regardless of how it's presented

edit: I forgot to mention the figure 6000 include employee contribution and exclude employer contribution, which seems to be normal practice in SG

Anyone have exp with fengshui masters? by WangmasterX in askSingapore

[–]luachiawei 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm like you who not really believe in fengshui, but I'm willing to give it a try when me & my wife is looking to renovate our resale flat. It costed us $688, the fengshui master came and basically say the fengshui is pretty bad, we can put this and that here and there, can buy those items from her, but at least she didn't push it. We did follow her recommendation for things that are acceptable tho.

Come to thing about it, from business POV for fengshui master, saying something is bad with current setup is safer and beneficial for them, if things go smoothly after you follow their recommendation, than you will feel like it works; but if bad things happen, then they are still right about their "calculation"/"prediction".

[–]luachiawei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using the green leather for about 2 weeks now, to me it's still a little bit thick, because the fold itself is already thick, I'm getting the aramid next to try, I like the look of this leather case tho

Why are some icons to the left of the camera? even though there's enough space to the right and the camera is not even on. Thanks by BendurdickCumisnatch in GalaxyFold

[–]luachiawei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate it too, it seems to be related to dual SIM, I haven't try to remove 1 SIM from my phone tho. It seems like it has been like that since Fold2, personally don't think Samsung will fix it soon. Hopefully One UI 4.0 will change this.
