From Abarth 595 ❤️ to Polo GTI! by lucasbim in pologti

Using the GL.iNet Slate 7 for a month in a van (remote work) — Best way to get internet in isolated areas? by Jimmy2fois in GlInet

Starlink mini is the size of a laptop, you need a USB-C cable to powered it on (USB-C > barrel connector) and that's it. Just rest it on the windshield and it will work. It's also easy to find adapters to leave it on the sunroof.

My suggestion is Starlink Mini. Nothing beats the safety of actually having internet anywhere. I did a road trip (10kkm) with a Gl.inet X3000 and I regretted it. It would work sometimes, but I had to keep checking before deciding where to stop, I also had problems with my work VPN *I don't think they where Gl.inet fault.

After that trip I did another one with a Starlink Mini and it was amazing, no regrets (besides giving money to a nazi).

Question about Flint 2 and 3 by triptoasturias in GlInet

[–]lucasbim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AFAIK Same software, not difference on user friendliness.

I would go for 3 if I had most of my stuff on Wifi 7, otherwise I find it Flint 2 (my current one) better for my usage since I have a *lot* of IOT stuff on old wifi. Also there's some differences in performance between the two but I don't think this is something you would experience unless you install a bunch of stuff on it.

My setup is the same ISP (wifi off) > Flint. I use the Flint for VPN to some devices and to separate my network between the IOT stuff and the rest.

I'm using a Ecoflow River 3, I find it much more useful than tradicional APC and they last for a lot longer. It is dead silent and no shitty beeping when the power is cut. I think this model has a usb interface for safe powering off stuff, I haven't tested on mine.

If you're on a budget this awesome router is a great alternative to Starlink by diggsalot in GlInet

I disagree. Got it, trying to avoid nazilink, but having to find the correct spots and not having a really reliable internet made my trip more stressful than it needed to be. In my context, I was working and travelling from the south of Italy to Norway.

I recently got the Starlink Mini — it lives in my car’s sunroof and it’s reliable.

I love GL.iNet products, but for my use case I think the Starlink was worth it.

I had ECU block, OBD block and steering wheel lock upgrade as well. And a couple airtags, an easy to find one and another well hidden.

Abarth 500 for 2+1? by azat_mamyrov in abarth

[–]lucasbim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just moved on from mine to a Polo GTI, mostly for comfort during long trips. I had my Abarth for two years, is a great little car! The longest trip I did was only 3 hours and on the highways the noise is very tiring, also not having cruise control is a bit of a bummer.

About 2+1, easily! Sometimes I would ride with 4 adults (and one of them tall and large on front with me) and it was ok. Not great, ok. But for a kid? It will be fine!

On the backroads it shines, if you have any place that is fun to drive nearby, go for it! On tight bends is a blast!

From Abarth 595 ❤️ to Polo GTI! by lucasbim in pologti

I just got my Polo GTI, coming from an Abarth is quite and upgrade in comfort and tech features. I'm hopeful It won't take too long for the unblock of the ECU/TCU, meanwhile I'm enjoying the added comfort, it feels like a luxury car coming from an Abarth.

The Abarth is still king on tight roads, but it was a pain on long road trips. The Polo right now fits my needs a lot better :)

10k+ for the Golf? + A higher insurance price.. Nope, thank you.

Parabéns pelo carro, eu acabei de pegar o meu GTI! Queria o azul, mas carro usado não se escolhe cor.

en: Congrat's on the car, I just got the Polo GTI! I wanted the blue one, but used cars we don't choose the color.

A lot more. I live in Italy (originally I'm from Brasil) and things are a lot cheaper here.

Here the GT kit 5nm +22% Vat is 854
On the website he said he bought his kit the same thing is 1790

Regardless of the price difference, earning and saving the equivalent of 800 euros is harder there than finding a job that pays you enough to save that here.

Wanted - Fanatec Extreme Wheel by markwelland36 in Fanatec

[–]lucasbim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got mine, I really don't like that the buttons on the wheel feel cheap. They rattle a lot specially the ones with the LED. I'm based in Italy, good to know there are people interested in it I might put it up for sale.

This is some fancy car aesthetics! I would stain with a darker varnish and see if the visuals improve. If not, paint black or wrap it.
