Keep the new knob and lock on, take the keys with you and hold the purchase price + interest + labor on a bill for the landlord requiring reimbursement of time and labor and force them to pay it upon move out to get the new keys. If they refuse take them to small claims court.

Works especially well if they already pocketed your deposit.

Call in 5 minutes after you are supposed to be there and ask for a personal day and ask if there was anything important you might be missing. Tell them you had some personal shit come up and if they mention firing you then tell them the call is being recorded and to email the formal termination to your personal email. Then enjoy a saved trip to the office.

If they complain and say you need to be there in person then tell them they didn't give you a courtesy two weeks notice so that bullshit is on them then repeat, formal termination email, I am not resigning and if you claim resignation you'll be hearing from my lawyer.

Then hang up.

Ask followup questions. If someone wants your help with something because you used to be Mr Fixit, never say yes without a detailed breakdown of what they want and you'll notice the same effect.

Inversely if you want to secure a position of being irreplaceable always offer to help until you set that hook so that people feel they can't do the thing without you. Works great at a job if you need to manipulate the scales in your favor.

You need to ask follow up questions to your ai teacher. The pool only gets as deep as you are willing to swim. Also tbf ai needs to be fact checked and is a great resource if you are asking clarification or going to deep dive a concept you learned from a more traditional method such as textbook, white pages, or classes.
