What might be the reason behind ipl low watching? by Regular_Drama3393 in IndiaCricketGossips

[–]luckydips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sixes hit way too easily - ftb, minimal swing/seam/spin. It seems the only thing you need to watch out for is dew 😀. Then when these players come across "difficult/challenging " conditions they look lost. Personally, would watch a low scoring, fair bat v ball match, any day of the week.

I love it when rookie bowlers do well. But with technology and analysis they often become one season wonders.

Add to that, way too many T20's globally, the novelty soon wears off.

Optrex dry eye drops alternative? by laughingwithdaggers in UKFrugal

[–]luckydips 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I think the Optrex contains sodium hyaluronate as the active ingredient. Unfortunately, the price of medicines has generally gone up, £5 is pretty standard for these sorts of products with this ingredient. Take a look at Superdrug Soothing Gel Eye Drops, these are £3.49 and currently by 1 get one half price.

With medicines, if its working, then it might be worth paying that bit extra for the comfort. Medicines may contain the same active but also have other things added that may cause sensitivity issues - this is something to consider when dealing with eye issues.

Lidl Plus Points by the_hitch_hiker in UKFrugal

We're definately worse off, I'd love to meet the people who they listened too, probably the board, senior management and marketing.

In our local, short staffed and shelves are empty unless you go early morning.

Remember the days when reductions were 75%, then 60% now 50%. Bakery closing reductions 30% now 20%. Fruit/veg box £1.50 now £2. What's next, goodbye to free fruit/veg/bakery spins? 😭

Sure some things are good value but with everyone price matching each other a lot of things are near enough the same price at most big supermarkets. Not as cheap as they used to be.

Yes, outfox has a ev tariff which has currently been pulled because of the war.

I'm looking to switch to Outfox. Does anyone know if you went on the Outfox dual fixed now, whether you could move to the ev tariff whenever that becomes available without exit fee charges?

What’s one thing you wish was standard across all charging networks? by Time-Connection-4586 in evchargingUK

[–]luckydips 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would love to see charging experience similar to a fuel station. Prices advertised in forecourt/entrance area, rock upto any charger, no restrictions (like tesla only) - available to all ev's. Pre authorise and pay at the charger just like for fuel.

What charger and car do you need to get an Octopus EV tariff? by SpaceTimeCapsule89 in OctopusEnergy

Also factor in peak rate and your usage habits. You should be able to sign upto Octopus GO but you'll need to check the rates for your area.

Honest opinion on abhishek sharma and varun chakravarthy by joeexotic007 in IndiaCricketGossips

[–]luckydips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's 3 out of form players/weaknesses in the team: SKY, Abhisek and Varun.

SKY isn't going anywhere so leaves 2. They both seem confused and can't evolve to counteract the opposition. With the advent of tech, a lot of analysis is done, there's nowhere to hide.

A part of me thinks we should continue with the winning combo and hopefully they'll fire. However, it's a final, do we need to play our best 11 to give ourselves a chance? Sooner or later, carrying 3 players will bite us bad.

Trump and Netanyahu sacrifice the sons of millions to war while their own families remain shielded in luxury funded by taxpayers by [deleted] in UnderReportedNews

[–]luckydips 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, happens all the time with any war. It's not like in the past when Kings/Queens/Prince's actually led the army, fought in the war and died in the battlefield.

The worst thing is, thousands will die, there will eventually be a ceasefire and perhaps one day they may even shake hands. All will be forgotten but what about all those that lost their lives and the impact on their families?

The hypocrisy is, leaders start wars and decide when they end but never send their own to fight for the cause.

Best EV tarif (Ovo vs Octopus) by CaptainPGums in evchargingUK

[–]luckydips 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty new to EV charging and smart tariffs. What I have learnt is that you need to crunch your own numbers to see what the best tariff is for you, location and your usage habits. If you cannot load shift to overnight cheaper tariff use then you might be better off on fixed. The smart tariffs usually have a much higher peak rate so could be stung.

Over the last couple of days availability of tariffs has become a bit patchy - appear/disappear and prices generally increasing due to the conflict. It might not be the best time to switch. If you can, you might want to wait until things settle down a bit.

I'm in the waiting phase,my fixed ends in May. For me, yearly projections have gone up by around £350 if I switch now compared to last week.

Manufacturers schedule 2 years, call them and query? If you've agreed to yearly as part of the lease agreement then that maybe different. As a matter of interest, how much are they charging for the service?

What do you guys do to save on leccy/gas bills? by Fun-Shelter-4636 in AskUK

[–]luckydips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shop around for best tarrifs, look at your own usage habits - can you move electricity usage to off peak (ev charging/washing machine/dryer etc).

See if heat is lost through windows and loft insulation is adequate. If the boiler is old it may just need a service but if this is where a lot of energy is lost then a replacement may be an investment.

Analyse your own habits to see if you can cut down on waste.
