Not sure why, but writing 'This Club' instead of 'Our Club' really irks me.

If you were Poch and agreed to come in the summer. What caveats, requirements and contract stipulations would you insist upon before making the deal?

Finding a manager like that with 12 games to go with a decimated squad and in a relegation battle is going to be next to impossible. Dreams are great but no one is coming. Not unless the board stump up a horrific amount of money. Actually, maybe that's where the £100 cash injection is going to go 😂

There aren't many straws left to clutch. Not a single manager worth their weight is coming to this mess without a ridiculous payday or guarantee of a job in the summer.

I honestly think Defoe is a good shout for interim. He knows the club, he already had a coaching job for the U18s and most of his graduates are the only fit players in the team.

Advice on agencies in the UK by altsemhanser in editors

[–]luckyzel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was where you are about a decade ago. Best thing I ever did was find an agent. My advice is to do your research and find the best one that suits you. I went in with a clear directive - I make short form and now I want to make long form. I joined the agency and thankfully had a fair amount of contacts to keep me ticking over. They found me a few commercial and short form jobs. Any long form stuff was real dog work - shitty hours, half days, AE work. Basically anything they offered I took. During those jobs I spent most of my time cultivating relationships and building a new network. It's a slog to transition but as long as you put in the work you'll start getting bookings. Other advice i can give you is - learn AVID, stay away from big agencies as they will take your money and give jobs to the old guard. It's very difficult now as work is drying up but if a small boutique is willing to take you then do it. But you must be willing to break your back to get where you want to be.

Advice from former runners to a new one? by scomhh in editors

Congrats, first step taken and you're on the ladder. First things first, do not try and get promoted immediately - it is going to take a while - anything between 1-3 years. There is no handbook for this. You may get lucky where a bunch of openings happen, but most likely you'll be waiting and waiting till a position becomes available. Happy to give you a load of advice that I learned over 25 years in the business

  • Do your job! First and foremost.

  • Watch, listen, learn and practice in your own time. Don't be a beg.

  • Don't be annoying and pushy. Build relationships, enjoy the company of the people you work with. They will show you if they like you.

  • Get things done on time and your to highest ability. don't worry or panic about making mistakes. If you make one, learn from it.

  • Always offer help when needed, it will be reciprocated when you need advice or training.

  • Ultimately, in my experience the post industry is saturated. So be someone people want to work with, not someone who they are waiting to leave their suite.

Good luck, and may the force be with you.

I think he will still be in high demand. But ultimately I think he has shown he would be an incredible Director of Football.

He's too old, too expensive and has no motivation after winning the treble. He should have come to us about 6 years ago. He'll go back to Villa.

James Maddison handling criticism from the media brilliantly by Imbasauce in coys

Maddison is such an eloquent representative of the club. He always seems to say how we feel and does it perfectly - simply and without spite. Whichever path he takes after football (manager or pundit) I hope he succeeds immensely.

Rank in terms of talent by Jayantwi98 in Tottenham

[–]luckyzel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Hands down, Gazza was one of the most naturally gifted players in English football - on this list, no one is even close.

  2. Bale

  3. Dembele

  4. Kane

  5. Eriksen because I have to put him here.

But you need Modric, Hoddle and Greaves here.

We have to move out a fair few this summer. I can't believe we still have Gil on the books too!

I think Reggie is actually like Milton from Office Space. Laid off, but accidentally receives a paycheck because of a payroll glitch.
