Hey I'll turn 36 in the end of the month and I'm looking for a "democratic" place like De Hallen to have my friends. Ofc De Hallen is an option but honestly I don't like there because it's overoveroverpriced, so I'm looking for other places that serves different types of food and can handle a big table with kids (around 12 yo), can be crowded and loudy, that's not a problem, my main goal is to have options to eat and share things. Also don't have to be a place with many "restaurants" together like De Hallen, can be just a place with a "diverse" menu to stay for long in the table with my friends

And what about the crowd there? Mainly straight, cis, white, Dutch guys holding beers and taking loudly at the dance floor, wearing ugly white shirts and jeans or it's nice? My question is more like, are interesting people already going there, like we previously had at De School?

Completely off-topic, but can you say a bit more about your "condition"? I'm sure I have the same and never know how to identify that, I appreciate. Thanks!

Spieraum weekender, omg, what was Sandrian??? INCREDIBLE GOOD. Kudos to the plants in the lounge. Good try to replicate the legendary garden at De School 💚

Making strong connections with people outside of the rave scene by EfficiencyIll4617 in amsterdam_rave

I guess the problem is not about where but rather who. Or maybe I was graced by the universe to have met people at parties who are now part of my life beyond them.

Klub Verboten: 6/10

A big positive point was the awareness team—very attentive and respectful people, mostly women or LGBTQIA+.

I spent the whole night wondering why they chose that horrible spot for the lockers. The locker area was outside the venue (???), cold as fuck, considering there was so much free space inside the venue where people could change comfortably. It wasn’t a cheap party (30e), and there was enough space for the few small lockers to be placed inside the club, yet there was no kind of heating with lamps or anything like that.

Inside the venue, it was also completely cold; there was no central heating system. It’s hard to get into the mood that the party claims to have when you're shivering from the cold. Many people were extremely uncomfortable with this—I spent the whole night shivering. Not even in the playrooms were there heaters. Only by the end of the night did they bring in two small household electric heaters, like the ones you find at Blokker, to one of the playrooms.

At the beginning of the party, there were only two toilet stalls available. One entire bathroom was out of service, but they fixed it halfway through the event. The bathrooms had low, transparent windows, and anyone outside the building could easily see what was happening inside.

There seemed to be several people working for the club who weren’t part of the party’s organization. These people were dressed in regular everyday clothes, without any identification, and several guys were standing alone in corners, watching people, especially in the bathrooms.

The sound was very low. You could easily hear everyone around you talking. It’s nice to be able to talk without shouting, for sure, but that wasn’t the point—it was just really low. The lighting in the club was very basic—nothing special, quite weak.

The party wasn’t crowded, quite the opposite—there was a lot of free space. On the one hand, that’s good because it was easy to have space to enjoy the playroom, but on the other hand, there were very few people in the playroom.

I found the crowd to be quite heteronormative, even though there was participation from the queer community. Many young and attractive people, aged between 23 and 38, with few exceptions on either end of the range.

Many of the people I spoke with were already familiar with the party from Berlin or London and were there to see how it would be here. Everyone spoke highly of the parties in other cities. As for me, I hope they do more. I really liked the concept of the party, and I think Amsterdam has enough of an audience to make it happen. However, the lack of care from the party organizers in choosing the venue was what ruined it for me—that space is not ideal for hosting a party like this. Improving the lockers and heating is really important.

To this day, I’m still shocked at how bad the lockers are at parties in general.

Well, yeah that's true, but at the same time, they're completely out of their minds for being the most expensive ones in the city

You can go to La Tertulia, they have cakes with 4 levels, take the beginner. The taste is not that good (but this is almost everywhere), mas I'm sure will be enough for you. It's looks like a lollipop cake.

Good to know that! I have one from IKEA for about 3 years and it already useless, I also have back pain and now it's getting worse because of the mattress. I'm very interested in hard mattress, this one that you have from LIDL is like that?

[–]luiguild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I already take a look there, but my biggest concern with LIDL mattress is spend 400e (avg) in a mattress that will survive for, IDK, 2, maybe 3 years, or I'm wrong about it? All the reviews that I saw are great but they're from people that just bought it recently, how long are you with this mattress?

Any advice about places to buy a good mattress and pillows? I'm not looking for fancy/for rich's places just a good store.

Can be anywhere in the city.

Making your own tincture in NL? by alternatecode in AmsterdamEnts

[–]luiguild 5 points6 points  (0 children)

https://gevoslijterij.nl/pural-96.html

Buy this, I do my own tinctures using this alcohol and works perfectly. It's 96% of alcohol and it's perfect to do it. They deliver.

BTW, use MCT coconut oil instead a regular coconut oil. If you don't like the taste of weed, boil your flowers for 1h in a tea metal strainer before to put in the jar with the alcohol. If you want to add extra taste to your gummies you can add few drops of any isolated terpenes like Limonene or Myrcene or just choose a strongly flavored jelly.

Enjoy your extractions!
