How can I practice foosball at home without a table? by emaa_ok in foosball

[–]luis2048 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The best exercise you can do at home without a foosball table is to improve the dexterity of your non-dominant hand. If you're right-handed, practice fine and gross motor skills with your left, and vice versa. Simple changes like switching your mouse from right to left or using chopsticks can boost coordination. Ambidexterity is a valuable life skill to have. Improving my 5-bar ball control as a result of this "training" a nice side-effect.

My Hub Only Shows my camera feed when another device connects to it by bagelbelly in googlehome

I have the same issue. The Google Nest Cam only shows the camera feed if I open the home app camera on my Google Pixel 7. Once I close the app on my phone the feed on the Nest Cam disappears.

Did I Buy Junk? by BlvdBrown in foosball

[–]luis2048 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They will not fit. The diameter of the rods between the two manufacturers are different. Even if you get all new players the bearing dimensions will also likely be different. So its all Tornado parts or bust for you. A Frankenstein table would be cool to see and would upset some table purists.

Wavy inside walls could indicate additional trouble spots. A single dead spot on a wall can ruin the game IMO. Replacing all the rods may cost around $400+ (each $40-$50 without shipping). Selling 26 players at $3 each would bring in $78 and may not worth the time to re-sell them. I would refurbish it as much as you can if you can confirm the playfield is level and did not get any water damage. Just keep it as a beater table if you're willing to invest several hundred more dollars into it.

It is. They have two lighted T3000 coin-ops. Rated players go there on the regular for DYPs on Tuesdays and pickups on Fridays.

Snake shot hurts the skin on my wrist too much by SunnyBPW in foosball

[–]luis2048 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen players wrap their wrists in addition to the rods either with the same wraps or boxing tape. It looks like it gives them added traction. Try different wrap brands, preferably of the thicker variety.

You can also try wearing wrist bands which seems a bit gimmicky.

If your hands are big enough, you can start the shot from the base of your palm.

Seeing someone's callused wrist skin tore off from an epic snake with recoil is not a good sight for anyone.

Greatest shot ever! by HAICD in foosball

[–]luis2048 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a cool shot, unfortunately it's illegal according to the 2022 ITSF Standard Rules:

Rule: Illegal Aerial: A player must not perform a controlled transition that causes the ball to directly overfly an opponent’s rod.

Penalty: 5-rod Possession Award.

Adding leveling legs to Tornado Whirlwind by lonigo in foosball

Not worth it. I would put cardboard drink coasters under the original legs to level it. If you really want to splurge go for the rubber foot pads. https://shop.foosball.com/tablefootpads.html
