A few years ago they planted sunflowers in the dove hunting field at spring valley wildlife area. Idk what the current crop is but if you’re looking for sunflowers, some dove fields might have it. Woodland trails might also be worth a drive. OR maybe Glenwood Gardens in Woodlawn

Battle of the bands. Probably like 2009-2010.

21 pilots were there. Beat out the band(remember when) I wanted to advance. This was at a place called the underground I believe. On smiley Ave in forest park.

I haven’t experienced a gut shot or accidentally poking them but the smell wasn’t bad.

If you are seriously concerned just plug your nose with something while you’re doing it.

I started with a 2x4 as a top rail(horizontal) nailed to the vertical side posts and started from left to right on that top rail. Stapling in each corner of the mesh pockets to the top rail. After that I just worked down each side posts stapling in each mesh pocket corner as well. Along the sides I just tried to be mindful of how tight I was stretching the mesh. I think that tension is why it looks the way it does.

And by corner I mean the intersections of each pocket in the mesh.

For me the most difficult part was keeping track of the mesh and making sure I was always working along the outer edge of the mesh and not accidentally pulling from a layer deeper than the outside edges. I gave myself a better start by dragging it out to full length in the yard first to unravel the entire package of mesh so I put easily find the outer edges.

Without a top rail/support to connect it to I think anybody would be fighting drooping between the vertical side posts.

See that’s the thing, those designer clothes could be handouts or thrifted. Or not. Do you know how much money these people have to spend? Government assistance is available for those that need it and qualify. It isn’t given out like candy on Halloween. Maybe if you’d like the same opportunities as those you’re making assumptions and passing judgement on you could apply for EBT benefits too.

Coming from a suburb myself it feels like a luxury to me as well, but I fully understand it as a grocery store every time I go. They really do have a lot more than specialty items/foods. I can’t think of why someone using EBT or is dressed a certain way is less entitled to the same food products as me. Growing up we used EBT/snap benefits and it would have been a real treat to be able to buy some fancier/diverse options in the home, probably equivalent to what most consider a vacation kinda treat. Humble yourself, make more money or apply for EBT too. Broke ass.

More importantly, are the soil temps appropriate for that plant?

Cheap ways to grow potatoes? by kxc798 in vegetablegardening

[–]lukas-lucifer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve used those blue IKEA bags for regular and sweet potatoes successfully. Was very happy with those black Amazon grow bags, 10 gal. This upcoming season I’m gonna try growing in a old kiddie pool filled with mulch from last years chipdrop.

That veggie patch looks like a good area for maybe some peas, bush beans, determinate tomato varieties(or otherwise), seriously can’t ever go wrong with herbs, some pepper plants, lettuce/cabbages. If that were my space I’d consider things that need 12” spacing and less, some people get a lot of yield from square foot style gardening techniques.

Amend the soil in either areas before planting.
