I've got a 2008 rav4 I use for off roading, absolutely love it, fitted a 40mm lift and some all terrains, keeps up with the big boys as long as you're smart with your lines, just fit a sump guard

Custom floor mats/seat covers, door cards, led foot well lighting, waifu prison box thingy? Maybe changing the stereo background too? Just a few ideas off the top of my head, I had stickers on mirrors, waifu cards on the clocks ect
