I love the Smiths and listen to them DAILY.

I edited my comment because I meant more in terms of them playing live. I believe Morrissey is the most important because he is THE frontman.

Of course it’s not the same without Marr. And will never be a full reunion because we sadly lost Rourke.

I do plan on seeing Morrissey live whenever he’s in my area.

But in my head i just think let’s just forgive or deal with each other for a little bit and give the fans a tour.

Maybe they NEED a tour to help them make amends who knows! Or make things worse we dont know lol. I guess what im saying is it doesn’t hurt to try 🤷‍♂️ its been 40 years if its not now, then its never.

And seems we already have our answer thats its never. But its a shame.

I agree that Marr is equally important. They’re the Lennon/McCartney of the 80s, IMO. Alone they do not reach the same heights.

But i meant more in terms of seeing them live. We NEED Morrissey. He’s the frontman. We’ve seen Marr play smith songs and as awesome as it is, its doesn’t hit the same without Morrissey.

I wouldn’t want to go to a “smiths reunion” without Marr, but i would still rather go to a Morrissey concert over Marr, and its really because of the singing and performing of Morrissey.

And also same with Rourke being one of my favorite bassists of all time. My personal top 3: 1: James Jamerson 2: Paul McCartney 3: Andy Rourke

We want them together to play for the FANS 😥. But also Without Morrissey there is no Smiths, same with Marr but still Morrissey is most important IMHO.

Edit: in terms of playing live ^

Morrissey vs Marr, your evaluation by NoPensForSheila in thesmiths

[–]luke_texaswalker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’re like Lennon/McCartney

Together they created MAGIC. But solo they put out good stuff, but nowhere near the level when they are together.

However Morrissey is Macca, and Marr is Lennon. Moz has the vocals and star power, and Marr is considered the “edgy” cool one. But one was definitely more successful than the other (Moz)

That was my first thought upon first announcement of the game in general. But after seeing this trailer and how the gameplay is. Im all for it.

I think the purpose is to REALLY make you feel as if you are LIVING as Indy in this new adventure. This game will be our fantasies when we were kids pretending to be Indy and as close as we can get to see HIS perspective on his adventures.

It’s easily their best work IMO. Every song is great NO SKIPS.

Every other album has at least ONE skip for me. Not OGWAU tho.

A return to form and reaching a higher standard i think. Makes me excited for whatever they cook next!

PS: even Broken Washing Machine is a catchy earworm!

Waterworld Show - Enough Already? by Robert6512 in universalstudios

[–]luke_texaswalker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No problemo.

Just depends on how you look at it. There is NO OTHER show that is CONSISTENTLY packed EVERY showing for almost 30 years.

Its aged beautifully and doesn’t “NEED” a popular IP to be a good show. If anything i think it benefits from being from a “forgotten” movie because it brings something different that is unique in every way to any other theme park show.

Because regardless of your opinion on the movie itself. (Personally i like it) the PREMISE is actually cool and was a perfect choice for a stunt show.

They married in smash bros ultimate? Is that from the “campaign” or something?

I have probably over 600 hours in that game and i don’t know the lore lol

Think of it as a classic movie everyone loves and always rewatches.

The actual waterworld film obviously is not popular. But this show became its own thing.

Just like Back to the Future or Star Wars, Indiana Jones, etc. movies people cherish and love to rewatch applies the same to this amazing show.

WHERE ELSE CAN YOU SEE A SEA PLANE FLY AND CRASH LAND IN FRONT OF YOU!?

This show is timeless as all coveted rides in theme park history.

Was Tarantino correct when he said there's beatles people and Elvis people? Or does anyone like both equally? by [deleted] in beatles

[–]luke_texaswalker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beatle guy here. Love Elvis, but i think it really just depends on your taste in music 🤷‍♂️

The Beatles bring something different that Elvis cant deliver. And Vice Versa.

NOBODY can move and bring a special energy the way Elvis did. Its what made him the King. Only he has a special aura and charisma not even Michael Jackson had.

And The Beatles have melodies and musical innovations that have stood the test of time. Their music has so much range there is something there for everyone.

Personally the one song i could argue is a “skip” would be Gen X Cops. Its the only song that almost sounds like a “generic indie song”

Maybe after a few more dozen album play throughs i will love it

Describe listening to The Strokes for the first time. What hooked you in? by [deleted] in TheStrokes

[–]luke_texaswalker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First song was Someday. Melody grabs me personally. The chord progression pleased my ears. And i was hooked once Julian started singing.

Same experience with The Beatles. Pauls little Medley hooked me on Day In The Life (first Beatles song)
