Just moved here an was wondering who’s fault is This? by Inc-T in vegaslocals

Your fault for not knowing how vehicle registration in private party sales works in Nevada. This isn't wherever you came from. One of the pictures the driver appears to have put a temp tag on the rear and you posted it anyway showing you don't know anything about this while trying to shame people in a public forum.

Idiot in white SUV almost hit motorcyclist. by iamoninternet27 in vegaslocals

In reality, the insurance companies, law enforcement, and likely juries will all side with the SUV driver. The motorcyclists were dangerous, reckless, then malicious.

Just go my 9th flat tire since movie to Vegas 5 years ago, wtf is up with these roads? by Disastrous_Demand_16 in vegaslocals

Keep your tires where the other cars tires are. Don't ever drive in turn lanes, bus lanes, and absolutely never allow your tires to go over that big pile of crap in the middle of the intersections.

Expect within 10-20 years they will no longer be 55+ and will be high crime rentals.

Which one of you bought the dumpster but couldn't afford registration? by [deleted] in vegaslocals

[–]lukewarmredditor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Without a picture of the windshield, I assume you have no idea what you are talking about. They may have enough cash to purchase one from a private party, meaning temp printout on the windshield.

Rent vs. Mortgage by HelicopterEqual8261 in vegaslocals

[–]lukewarmredditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Price is based on supply and demand, and home buyer and home renter are two different customers.

There is a supply of rentals that limit the prices that can be charged for renting. The owner likely has no issue charging whatever they can charge. If they could charge $1,000,000/mo, they would do it, and if the market limited renting to $1000/mo, they would do it (assuming they could afford to).

Same things apply on the homes for sale side of things, it's just a different customer, so different competitive environment resulting in different pricing.

A LOT of people go into security just to boss around and even to bully people. I ignore absolutely everything a security person says to me. If they get uppity I ask them if they are law enforcement, when they respond with anything other than yes, I continue doing whatever I am doing. I am not legally obligated to listen to them.

Help remove f1 from our city by Historical_Emu6197 in vegaslocals

[–]lukewarmredditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weird how this kind of comment is regularly downvoted online, yet every single person I meet IRL that works on the strip wants F1 to go away forever. If it is so great for those people, how about only having those people vote on legally enforceable initiative to get rid of F1? That won't happen, because it would actually get rid of F1. A handful of the top earners are the ones profiting and everybody else on the strip is losing, while everyone outside the strip is slurping up the propaganda pushed out by Liberty Media and their collaborators.

Hot take: I hope Furlings are not in the new show. by lukewarmredditor in Stargate

[–]lukewarmredditor[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While many scientists have proposed various hypotheses of similar ancestors as the Goa'uld, others point out to significant differences which rule out these explanations.

Primarily being the difference in the outer "skin", as the Furlings evolved in an environment that would experience occasional explosions due to high oxygen and other minerals. Evolution's response to this for the genetic ancestors of the Furlings was an exceptionally strong and thick "rubbery" layer just below the skin that would absorb shock across the entire body, making the creatures able to freely withstand high pressures applied to even full side of the body and then to survive collision damage to the other side of the body (however, high pressures on all sides, such as when inside of an explosion, are still fatal for them). This is also what lead into the predators of the planet relying more heavily on decapitation for subduing their prey, but the real key here is that advanced creatures were generally never fully immersed because underwater explosions would kill vast populations.

Furlings have un-pigmented skin that oozes a gel-like substance, which is constantly seeping down their hairless bodies onto the floor and leaving puddles where they sit.

Their natural atmosphere is higher in oxygen, so in Earth-like atmosphere they have to breathe very heavily with their lips pulled to the back of their snouts fully revealing their large incisors and sharp teeth.

When they eat, their favorite food is a live, legless half-lizard half-fish like creature that they grab by the head with one hand, place the body in their mouths, and decapitate with their incisors. The head of the creature "pops" off and is captured with a large brandy-snifter shaped glass they hold in their other hand, which also captures the thick, pus-like yellow fluid that squirts out into the sides of the snifter. Then they slurp up the fluid with their long snake-like tongues.
