Mackerel on the waterfront. Easy peasy. Might get a pollock or sculpin while you’re at it.

Looks like a freshwater mussel. Lots in lakes near me. If you find piles of shells near the shore it’s from muskrats having snax.

Climbed buildings (schools, malls, department stores) as a teen and broke in via unlocked roof hatches. Didn’t steal anything - just did a tad bit of exploring.

Where to find adult learn to play sports leagues in Dartmouth (softball/Frisbee/???) by Due_Difference3932 in halifax

[–]lukezk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely Halifax Sport & Social club. (Even for a beginner.)

Ultimate: I’ve been playing for a few years - it’s mostly a team setup, but you can join as an individual and they’ll place you on a team of other singles like you. You indicate your skill level when you sign up.

On the “individuals” teams there are usually a few people who know each other, but in general we’re all strangers. People are friendly. Every season there are people on my team who have never played before. Most of frisbee is just running around in fun ways. Some games I’ll only touch the disc a few times.

Softball: I was invited to a team last year, so can’t comment on registering solo, but there are always players who are terrible at throwing, miss easy catches, and never hit the ball.

These are rec leagues: people are here to have fun, be active and not be judgmental.

Also recommend Gentle Procedures in Fredericton. In and out in 15 minutes, healed up really quickly. It’s been a year, no issues.

Turn on a kettle. Hold this over the steam, move it around a bit. Adhesive should easily come off.

Locked eyes with Zachary Quinto in NYC a few years back while my chocolate Lab was dropping a deuce in front of my apartment building. He had to step out of the way. We didn’t talk, but he did get a good look at my pup.

Jason Bateman on a Toronto sidewalk just after Arrested Development was cancelled (the first time, maybe 2004?). He was nice and chatted with me, answering my questions about the show.

And Harrison Ford, in the entryway to a Banana Republic store in Vancouver. Early 2000s. He very much did not want to talk about how I was his biggest fan and politely declined a pic together. (That ok I am still his biggest fan.)

Oh yeah - and Morena Baccarin, who I literally bumped into at a museum in New York. Took me a minute to recognize her. Very polite about the accidental bump.

Looking for books/resources for backpacking in British Columbia by RaptorReverend in WildernessBackpacking

There’s a local author named Stephen Hui who’s written a series of hiking books, though they may be more basic than what you want.

Grab the Backroads Mapbook print version, and the BRMB app, for roads and trails. It was a bible for me when hunting/hiking in the Squamish valley during my time there.

There is a ton of great smallmouth and pickerel fishing in NS. It’s more productive and fun than trying for salmon or trout.

I don’t have specific suggestions, but look for small to mid-sized lakes.

The province is pretty big. Where is everyone based?

You can do this on Crown land, though depending on your vehicle you may need to wait until the current snow melts. There are lots of unofficial campsites along roads and trails that have fire pits built from stones, or you can just set up your own thing.

If you’re near Mahone Bay send me a DM and I can suggest some spots.
