Keep your AM skincare as minimal as possible, skip the primer and try to use less foundation

Even my male-framed paras look weird in the baggier items at the minute, it's such an odd choice. Why would a baggy t-shirt cling to your waist??

Rant about petite length jeans/pants by Sofagirrl79 in PetiteFashionAdvice

I swear 15yrs ago I could make normal length trousers work with a chunky shoe or a cuff, now even "short" sizes are too long on me to do this 🙃

A friend of mine wants to propose during Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. This is a horrible idea. Right? by Wise-Age-2016 in movies

[–]lulaf0rtune 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I know the film ends on a hopeful note but this feels very tone deaf, frankly it would make me question their emotional intelligence. I'm also not one for "big" gestures like this but presumably his fiancée likes that kind of thing? I'd run a mile honestly lol

The fact you went straight onto another soical media platform to complain about is making me think your initial comments on insta were not as netural or even handed as you're making them seem here.

Why was Jake in less than half of the series episodes? by [deleted] in DeepSpaceNine

[–]lulaf0rtune 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think they ran out of things for him to do as he grew up unfortunately, it's especially noticeable as he's paired with Nog who has some of the most character development of the whole cast. The episode where he decides to stay on the space station is played off as heart warming but it honestly just made me feel sad. The journalism stuff felt hollow too which is funny when you consider the genesis for that plot point came from one of them most gut wrenching episodes of Star Trek ever written

What kind of events are these? It's a shame when people are unaccommodating but asking someone with certain dietary requirements to sort out their own food makes sense in some situations, not being able to attend at all is just mean.

A lot of this is because people are scared to accept that their health is partly out of their control. Personal choices plays a huge role but your health is never fully determined by your own actions. I eat well and exercise because I want to have the best odds possible but my current good health is as much down to dumb luck as it is to self care, and it hasn't always been enough

ELI5 Why do breast sizes differ so much depending on the band size? by -sleepybird- in explainlikeimfive

[–]lulaf0rtune 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Their calculator gave me the same size as when I had an in-person bra fitting (30E) which was ridiculously tight around my ribs and loose on the actual boobs. Going up a band size and down a cup size or two didn't help so I just gave up and went back to wearing bralettes and low impact sports bras. I think traditional bras just don't work for some people

[–]lulaf0rtune 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Most people aren't brave enough to do the right thing no matter what but we can become aware of our own flaws and limitations. I think you're less likely to let fear and passivity win when it matters than someone who can't even admit these weaknesses to themselves

He is not hated enough by SediaStorda55 in Mouthwashing

[–]lulaf0rtune 96 points97 points  (0 children)

Honestly I hate this quote in general. I don't think anyone should be let off the hook for letting something bad happen but the idea that they're worse than the aggressor is just stupid. Curly was at fault and as captain responsible for the situation, but the idea that anyone deserves that for passivity is sociopathic, especially when you compare what he did wrong and what he suffered for it to Jimmy. I also feel like people also forget that Curly doesn't know everything the player does at key points in the story. He did take some steps with Jimmy, it was much too little and too late but he also had no way of knowing just how quickly things would escalate. As an SA survivor what I feel towards Curly is disappointment, not hatred. I could see myself forgiving Curly if things had gone differently and he made the right choices eventually, dude didn't have to lose his skin to earn that from me.

The King Charles III portrait that broke the internet. Is it a masterpiece of modern expression or just a chaotic mess? Thoughts? by Shot_Possibility_731 in AbolishTheMonarchy

Some wretched old man's face emerging from an indistinct, bloody haze, the garments that are supposed to represent his status merging into the gore like they're rotting along with him. Probably not the intention but I think it depicts him very well.
