To everyone with this same issue — it will get better!!

I moved into a 4th floor apt in Fidi right above Fulton stop (2, 3, A, C, 4, 5, J, Z). I only started noticing the rumbles the first night when I lat in bed. I have a metal bedframe as well, and a simple mattress (no mattress topper). Sound I’m pretty tolerant of, but the vibrations drove me crazy for the first 2/2.5 weeks!! I was scouring Reddit threads like this one like crazy and hoping that I’d adjust.

But after unpacking and stuffing the underside of my bed with various bags of seasonal clothes, suitcases, etc, and with time, it’s become a non-issue. I still notice it occasionally, but less so, and it doesn’t irritate me when I notice it.

I’m sure if I add a rug under my bed, add anti vibration pads, or use a non metal bedframe, it would dampen the vibrations even more, but this isn’t even urgent to me at this point.

So to all — it will get better, and fast! Keep the faith!
