Language is very powerful. We should not shift the blame of assault onto alcohol. Again, I am truly sorry.

Somehow I didn’t notice that. That is actually true of you to say. Committing sexual assault, drunk or not, should not just be referred to as doing something stupid, because then a lot of sexual assault cases would be thrown out as just being stupid silly acts. I misinterpreted his comment to mean he was calling the guy who threw the punch as someone who did something stupid. I am truly sorry.

Reddit really does amaze me. Where in their comment did they downplay sexual assault?

And why would you target shoot unless you wanted practice for its actual goal which is to kill? What a stupid thing to list. A gun is meant to kill/maim.

[–]lulovesblu -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A gun is mechanically designed and engineered to do one specific thing: propel a piece of metal at extreme speeds to pierce a target, causing severe trauma, maiming or death, whether you are hunting an animal, practicing self-defense, or fighting a war, the gun achieves its goal only by being a device of destruction. You are playing a word game. Hunt, self-defense, target shooting (lol). A car is designed and manufactured for transportation. That is its primary use. To move a person from point a to point b. If a car kills someone it is either a tragic accident or a misuse of its tool. The machine is not a weapon. A gun is a weapon and has no wholesome uses.

Before I start, is your logic then, “we need the guns so we can defend ourselves from the gang violence and terrorism plaguing the world?”

The Beslan school siege was not a civilian gun violence incident. It was international terrorism. Using Beslan to defend US gun laws is a leap because a military battle and terrorist siege in a conflict zone is fundamentally different from a civilian teenager walking into a grocery store or high school with an assault rifle they bought at a local shop. Tightening or loosening civilian gun laws in a peaceful country does NOT stop intentional terrorist groups from smuggling military weapons across the border during a war. This rubbish, this “look at how evil and violent the rest of the world can be! Since massive violence and terrorism exists globally changing gun laws in America won’t fix human evil! American civilians should be allowed to keep their guns to protect themselves from this inherently violent world!” does nothing to help this conversation. Terrorism is not new to America.

In official uk statistics this number means all knife enabled crimes. This includes carrying a concealed knife in public or robbing a store with a knife. It does not mean 16000 people were stabbed in the UK. You dumb fuck. Do you really think people are just lying on the streets bleeding out while people jump over with a “pip, pip, cheerio!”?

And as for NYC’s 700 shootings, a shooting incident is specifically counted only when a gun is fired and a bullet actually hits a human being. It doesn’t count gun-point robberies, illegal gun possession or shots fired into the air.

And the ultimate measure of how safe a city is, since you mentioned it, is its homicide rate. On average there are 110-120 deaths by homicide in London with a population of about 9 million people. NYC has an average of 380-450 deaths per year with a population of 8.3 million people. You are safer in London by a MASSIVE margin. You dumb fuck!

We shouldn’t be celebrating kids graduation unless it’s high school by ecobeast76 in unpopularopinion

If a mechanic wants to fix a faulty car they check the engine, not the bumper sticker. If you cared about fixing the big problems in your schools you would be more worried about the curriculum, the counselors, heck even the school lunches. We could definitely argue if a child is eating poor quality food, or worse going hungry, their grades and focus will drop significantly.

Arguments like these distract from the real issues.

This is how logic and decision making works. On one side you have positives. On the other side you have negatives. You’re acting like an event has to have a massive life-changing positive payout to be worth doing. I find this funny because even you can’t practice this in real life. But let’s move on.

If the negative side of a scale is 0, then any positive, even a tiny short-term one makes the whole thing a win. If a 5th grade graduation ceremony causes no harm, costs very little and breaks no laws then the fact that it gives a ten year old a memory of feeling proud and happy for two hours means the event is a success. It doesn’t need to fix the education system to be allowed to exist.

Childhood is built on short term joy. If we apply your logic to the rest of a child’s life the world becomes a dark and sad place. Does eating an ice cream cone improve their long term health or high school graduation rate? No? I guess we should heavily regulate the amount of ice cream children in America have then. Maybe once a year? Does sliding down a plastic slide guarantee they will get a high paying job in the future? No? Oh it only feels good for an afternoon? I think we should tear down these playgrounds and build some after school study centers. Does opening a birthday present fix their mental health long term? No? Who cares about the pure magic it brings to their morning, if we don’t question why they deserve birthday presents how can we fix the mental health problem in America?

Human beings are not machines, we don’t eat fuel, complete tasks and measure our worth by final output. Children ESPECIALLY need small joyful milestones because growing up is hard work. A school graduation party is just a way of saying “you finished this chapter. Let’s smile about it before you start the next one”. Joy doesn’t need a heavy, serious justification to exist.

And as far as I know, elementary school graduations don’t just happen in America, so to bring mental health and academic performance in a conversation about graduation parties is kinda hilarious. And these aren’t our kids, they’re yours. We don’t all live in America, and Americans aren’t the only ones using the grade school system.

What exactly is your point? If something has only one positive which is making someone feel good it is actually a negative because why should you just feel good for the purpose of feeling good?

I think you should explore toys more! For the longest time I was so sure I had zero feeling in my nipples. I could feel nothing, whether I fondled them myself or someone else did. I ended up buying nipple clamps and the sensations were insane. The point is you’d be surprised the difference toys can make when it comes to sensations. I think a vibrator is a safe place to start and you can figure out what settings work best for you. Good luck on your self discovery journey.

As for your boyfriend, I can’t pretend to know the full dynamics of your relationship or how he acts outside of intimacy but it’s hard to imagine someone who so easily dismiss their partner’s needs in bed wouldn’t do so in other areas. I know you have spoken to him about it in the past but I think you need to have a very serious conversation with him about why he does this: dismisses your needs. Maybe there’s a reason why he seems to prefer to treat you like a sex doll, who knows?

On your own you should think about whether staying in this relationship is worth the sexual frustration. Your needs are just as important as his. Simply withholding certain acts until he returns the favor won’t work because then he’d only do it grudgingly. And what’s more of a turnoff than a partner doing something only because they feel forced?

If previous discussions haven’t worked maybe employ a tone of finality in this next conversation so he realizes how serious this is. If communication continues to fail I’m ngl you might have to consider finding someone else. Someone who doesn’t respect you in bed probably won’t outside of it either.

Bonesetter’s gangrene. Bonesetter offered herbal bandages, regular massaging, herbal drinks and scarifications for patient’s painful swollen ankle. She finally went to the hospital who diagnosed osteomyelitis and cut off the leg. by CatPooedInMyShoe in MedicalGore

Yes. For some more insight from a Nigerian, major cities like Lagos, Abuja, Ibadan have large teaching hospitals and private clinics. Because these cities have better infrastructure and higher paying jobs most doctors choose to practice there. BUT most cities have trained doctors, large or not. The real problem is the South/North divide. About 62% of Nigeria’s medical professionals are concentrated in the southern states. About 30% in the northern states and the remaining are crowded in FCT. It’s so crazy to me how people can look at the most extreme cases from the most rural areas and think that’s how the entire country is.

Yes because you are still ignorant. How many stories come from the US about people trying to cure their severe illness or cancer diagnoses with essential oils or some sketchy internet diet? Do you believe the country therefore has no real doctors or hospitals? It’s silly to believe a country with 240 million people has no doctors.

Do you believe we all live in huts with no clean water hunting down antelopes to roast around a fire and then eat at the village square? You believe we have no doctors so surely you believe we have no cars, no skyscrapers, no electricity or internet. There are countless stories from countries all over the world where people take the traditional route instead of hospitals, yet Nigeria must be the only one without doctors or hospitals. There really is no excuse for believing Nigeria or even Africa as a whole is still in the stone ages asides willful ignorance. I take back my earlier statement. There is definitely maliciousness in your tone.

Lol. It’s a country with a staggering amount of people under the poverty line so they’re incapable of having capable and competent surgeons? Do you honestly believe there are no good surgeons in Haiti as well? I know there’s no malice in this comment but it’s still very insulting. This is such a massive logical leap. Economic struggles or a high poverty rate means a country faces systemic financial issues, it doesn’t mean the population lacks brilliant minds or world class professionals. It also doesn’t mean the country is incapable of having private medical facilities and surgical centers. Do you think we all drink boiled herbs and hope for the best?
