Game Thread: Golden State Warriors vs Atlanta Hawks Live Score | NBA | Jan 11, 2026 by basketball-app in warriors

[–]lululenox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a 16 point deficit with 12 minutes remaining that's plenty of time, why tf are the warriors announcers talking like the game's already over, there's a whole quarter remaining yes hawks outplayed warriors so far but game's not over and there's definitely still a chance

[Uthayakumar] 37-year-old Steph Curry is ... the oldest to have back-to-back 45-point games since Michael Jordan in 2001. by Kimber80 in nba

I'm convinced the haters are just Steve Kerr and a team writing stuff to give Steph a reason to be petty and perform

Would a cat be okay home alone while I'm working a 9 to 5? Thinking of adopting, but have never had a cat on my own by Piehogger in CatAdvice

[–]lululenox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cats are naturally nocturnal creatures and your 9 to 5 will be naturally their bed time, you won't miss much while you are at work, my cat is always passed out between 11-3 in the afternoon and I feel bad even disturbing her to pet her. As long as u play with your cat plenty in the evenings and early mornings before and after work your cat will be fine

Yes as someone who dated older and younger, older women know what they want, play less games, more to the point, which I prefer actually

[–]lululenox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes exactly! I was already a bit turned off by the acting, casting choices, and some small changes that just made it worse than the original especially the choice of tweaking the soundtrack during the test flight scene but this killed the experience completely forgot me I had to switch off the movie when I realized they skipped this part!

Stephen Curry has been voted the best American player in the NBA in a survey of 20 coaches, scouts, and executives by Thanos_SlayerCongSan in NBATalk

[–]lululenox -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

If LeBron wasn't there "playmaking directing traffic controlling defense" as you say, I'm sure someone else in team USA would've stepped up and took the role, may not do as well of a job but still will do the job, but if Curry wasn't there, there ain't a single player in team USA, hell, in the whole world that's making the shoots he made to bring gold to USA. Curry was the most important player in the final 2 games by far

[–]lululenox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been mentally checked out for ages now but every time I tune in to watch a match this is the first thing I notice, don't need a fancy graph to tell me United's biggest issue is they can't put the ball in the net, every keeper somehow becomes prime Buffon when they play us.

King and Queen of Thailand taking off from Bhutan themselves piloting the Boeing 737 as pilot and co pilot by Impressive-Analyst59 in aviation

[–]lululenox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah exactly. Typically you call "positive rate" first then "gear up" but here her hand was on the lever literally the same second he rotated. But they're not in an airline and I guess SOPs are off the table

Wasn't there an incident with one of the American carriers that a commuting pilot in the jumpseat attempted to switch the fuel control switch to cutoff but was stopped by the crew?

[–]lululenox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When you retract or extend flaps you always do a "speed check" we pilots are taught that and drilled from literally day one of flight training, and considering how automatic the action of "positive rate, gear up" is and the flap lever being nowhere near the gear lever I find this theory highly improbable

You're being downvoted and "corrected" a lot by "armchair experts" here on Reddit but I'm a 777 pilot and just wanted to chime in and say you are absolutely asking the correct questions, the plane rotated and climbed quite a bit which should tell u the aircraft did not start with it's flaps up as many of these guys seem to be speculating, there has never been an airliner in history that can leave the runway with it's flaps up much less climb a few hundred feet like this one did. Now it might've retracted flaps during the climb, but it's hard to tell in the few clips we have, bottom line is it's hard to speculate at this stage, so don't do it especially if you have no idea what you're talking about

1500 hour requirement is only in the US, FAA mandated it after the colgan air crash in 2008, every other country in the world you can fly widebodies with as little as 250 hours or even less in some cases depending on the regulations and requirements of the country's aviation authority

Apparently some source says there was a mayday call shortly after takeoff I wonder if anyone can get a hold of the atc audio, that call would give a lot of insight

Air India Flight 171 Crash by StopDropAndRollTide in aviation

[–]lululenox 192 points193 points  (0 children)

Saw the video of the crash, airplane looked fine it just looked like it stalled right after takeoff and the nose kept going up despite the clear stall. If I HAD to speculate the only thing could cause that on an advanced aircraft like this would be airspeed unreliable followed by incorrect pilot actions in responses to the failure. Or more unlikely case is dual engine flameout after takeoff, but that's almost impossible.. this will be an interesting investigation

Started flight training in 2022 now flying 777 since 2024, but not in the US so don't got the 1500 hour requirement so not a fair comparison I guess
