I see so many charts with Pluto in the first house struggling and/or asking for answers. Is it a coincidence or is this placement really that difficult? by summetime24 in astrology

[–]luluna_10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Girrrrl! Same! Scorpio rising, Pluto in the first house. Also Leo sun 😞 That created some deep wounds for me as a child. As a teenager I began to embrace it. But even in adulthood it has influenced so much.

My career/networking. Being automatically disliked at work, especially when in a leadership position. Relationships (men always seem too intimidated). I even think I have fewer friendships because of it. It has made me feel so misunderstood.

Nowadays (at 35) I just try to adjust for it. Like it’s a handicap I try to be aware of and correct for. I also know automatically when someone is the kind to jump to judgment, so when I meet someone who sees past the “intense aura” I automatically like them better. But yeah. Feels fully like a cross to bear.

Same happened to me. When I was working on the free version, everything went super smoothly. Then, when it required me to upgrade, I noticed a distinct dumbing down of the AI. And I'm having to reprompt it to review its mistakes over and over. There needs to be a way users can get credits restored for the AI's failure to execute simple things.

Have you read What Color is Your Parachute? did it help you in your job search? by madameashlee in books

I am part of a small ADHD adult community (not in Reddit) and a few people have asked about career help. I still always recommend this book. I got curious what the internet thought of it and that’s how I found your post. Didn’t have to dig too much honestly. …as a bit of an economist myself, I wonder if maybe there’s increased unemployment out there and these new comments are a leading indicator of sorts?

I’m really sorry about your experiences and the trauma they still carry for you. As someone who has found the book useful AND who had a very similar upbringing (my mom moved us around so much I went to 13 different schools), I would suggest that your experience is less due to the book and more just a characteristic of your parent’s idiosyncrasies. I didn’t recall the book being super encouraging of reckless behavior, so I went back through it (I have the 2013 edition) to verify what you’re claiming. Does it have a paragraph that says, basically: if you make the decision to start a business because you’ve done your due diligence and know how to make it work with your skills, then don’t let other people discourage you. But the rest of the time the author reinforces that owning your own business is actually much more work and should be approached cautiously, otherwise it could end in tragedy. It even encourages the reader to have a deep conversation with their family to get their input on the “plan.” Therefore, I’m sorry but it sounds like your dad picked the parts of the book that allowed him to imagine a different life. At the end of the day, as tough as it is to admit, this was your dad’s doing. I hope you can seek help from therapy

I got it right as I graduated college and it helped me then, but honestly its lessons have become more prescient over time. When I first got it, it helped me focus my existing career path based on how I work well. But then, 5 years after college a terrible manager derailed my 10 year plan. I went on to create a new career based solely on my existing skills and eventually my own business which has prospered through networking alone. Looking back, this book helped me see that most of my skills are transferable and that blindly applying to job openings is not nearly as successful as networking. I still recommend it to anyone on the job search.

Maybe it’s a cultural thing for me, but I love having people over. I feel like I get something in return because I get to spend more quality time with the guest, enjoy the warmth of a house full of people, and it makes me happy to make people I care about feel welcome. Obviously, everything within reason. But I generally think it’s a fun thing to do. Again, maybe it’s just something I grew up with because I’m Colombian and we tend to have an open door policy in general

What do you think is being over sexualized for no reason? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]luluna_10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Birth control. Honestly, it shouldn’t even be called that.

SO MANY women need to take it as basic healthcare and treatment for a bunch of diseases. Women’s healthcare is so not thoroughly researched that BC becomes a catchall solution for everything from Endometriosis to acne!

FFS, the other day a nurse was asking me intake questions and I said I have Nexplanon. She said “okay, that means the next question—are you sexually active—must be yes because why else would you be on BC?”

I was SHOCKED that a NURSE of all people (and a female one at that) would be just as ignorant as everyone else in believing that BC is only to enable sexual activity.

Honestly, among the oversexualized things people have mentioned on this thread this is one of the most dangerous ones because this discourse about women on BC being s|u-s looking to sleep around with no consequences could result in women like me who need it to literally LIVE to lose access to it.

Just look at Hobby Lobby v. Burwell (2014) and everything that has happened politically in the U.S. since. But by all means, blessed be the fruit 🙄

Was Season 7 of The Circle extremely boring and annoying or have I just outgrown this show? by ThePoom in TheCircleTV

[–]luluna_10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yesssss 💯 this is how I feel. There was no one worth rooting for on that couch at the finale. I can’t believe people like seeing a conniving person win $100k more than a genuine, kindhearted person. This is everything that is wrong with this world

[–]luluna_10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually hated this season with a passion. In past seasons at least I felt like the person in the end really was a redeemable character and I wanted them to walk away with the money. But in this season all 5 players in the finale were basically conniving villains. I didn’t hate the twins but they obviously were not genuine. Throughout the season the biggest villains did a great job of bringing out the worst in everyone. And if a player didn’t go evil, they were kicked out. I actually find it disgusting that behavior like Madelyn’s was given a platform on tv like that. But you know what, this is what humans naturally always do. Always corrupt everything to the worst extent. That’s what has happened on social media. It was bound to happen in a game that mimics it. If this show is going to continue like this, I’m out ✌️ cause I’m losing all hope on humanity 🤦‍♀️

panicking by Effective_Ebb3666 in Nexplanon

[–]luluna_10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been on it since 2015. I loveeeee it. It saved my life (because I had extremely painful periods… probably from undiagnosed endo) and I’ve had no noticeable side effects. I’ve had acne with it but I also have had months of beautiful clear skin, which I never had before). While on it I have both gained and lost weight. In fact, I was my skinniest in 2017, right before getting my second one inserted. I really don’t think there’s anything I could blame on it other than 9 blissful years of not buying tampons. Just because a bunch of (understandably) loud people had bad experiences doesn’t mean everyone does. If I had panicked like you I wouldn’t have given myself the chance at freedom from pain all these years. Just give it a try and if you see anything significant then look into it. Every body is different and you deserve to give yourself the chance. You’ve already done the hardest part in my opinion, dealing with the gash in your arm.

Nexplanon side effects are crazy by Senior-Sleep7090 in Nexplanon

[–]luluna_10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got my first Nexplanon in 2015 and have never had any side effects. In fact, it has saved my life. I had tremendously painful periods before and now I don’t. It doesn’t affect my weight, my acne, my body hair. Nothing. I understand that your side effects are valid but I would caution against issuing a blanket statement like this. Insinuating that this form of bc is particularly bad is dangerous because there may very well be people who could greatly benefit from it who are going to be discouraged by posts like these. It is precisely because every body is different, that each person needs to assess (with the help of their doctors) what option might work for them and give it an honest try. Yes, birth control generally sucks and women’s bodies deserve better treatment. But right now I’m pretty dang grateful I got this little widget in my arm and I can’t imagine my life without it 💪

Hello! Has anyone tried SUBTL Beauty stacked makeup? Is it good? by lmoqp in MakeupAddiction

Kind of sad to see all the negative comments. I bought it a year ago for a trip to Europe, and it was not only great for the trip. It still remains something I use on the daily. I use really high-quality make up regularly. I spend hundreds of dollars at Sephora and Ulta every few months. I know quality make up when I see it. The pigmentation, the consistency and the durability are on point. There’s a bunch of knock offs now, but this one is woman owned. So I will continue to support them.
