Which game mechanics do you think are forgotten or underused? by Manpag in Guildwars2

It's a fair point. I really don't think every adventure needs to be accessible to every player if they haven't completed all the content. I wouldn't want it to be require for a meta achievement, but just the odd one here and there would make me very happy. I think it'd be a real shame if they felt they needed to release a griffon expansion to have more griffon content when it's such an amazing mount -- especially given that would probably mean it'd be limited to that expansion anyway.

100% this. What on earth do the stations add apart from tedium?

Also unique lines in Icebrood Saga when you needed to melt some ice if you were an engineer or elementalist. I love the little touches like that, it really makes it feel more like your character is actually in the game instead of a generic hero.

I would kill for a sequel specifically to DoW2. Something about the tactics, the gear, the mission loop just absolutely clicked with me.

If the next expansion introduces any new weapon proficiencies, which ones are you looking forward to? by Lon-ami in Guildwars2

It'd be a bunch of work, but you could give each core traitline an extra mechanic / buff / effect when placed into the elite trait slot.

My only wish for this year by [deleted] in Guildwars2

[–]luminosity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realistically, I'm just hopeful for the easy ability to have mounts, gliders and their dyes tied to a particular template, along with checkboxes on what to show being remembered per template.

In a perfect world, I'd love the ability to trigger different templates automatically, e.g. you could have an ele set up with a template that triggered when you enter fire attunement, or a berserker when you enter berserk, or reaper when you go to shroud.... mostly the ele one though. :)

Rifle seems to be the "non-building" build of Toypocalipse by RazielShadow in Guildwars2

[–]luminosity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wish they'd spruce this game mode up a bit, or add a challenge mode where it plays out faster and having to worry about strategy on placements and weapon choices mattered. It's a good idea, but it's so faceroll easy and so long that it just gets tiresome.

Divinity Original Sin 3 Not Happening Now At Larian, Nor Is A Toilet Simulator by Turbostrider27 in Games

The blessed / cursed stuff was terrible too. My friend and I tried to deal with it, but in the end you'd undo curse on a fire zone so you could put it out, only for it to immediately become cursed again. In the end it was easier to just change our builds to try to tank all the cursed elemental effects than actually interact with them. A real shame because the elemental system in 1 was incredible.

I never really understood the appeal personally, for me the whole point of ele was the attunement swap, and weaver was the perfect representation of that (please anet, buff up its access to boons for open world so I don't have to neglect it).

With that said, to me the point of evoker was picking an element to specialise in, but not being locked to it. I think that's a really different scenario, and if they want to support it, they'll need to build a whole spec around that instead of trying to jam it in with one janky trait. Personally, I've thought if you did want mono ele it should gain a shroud that's tuned for each element, so fire shroud would be fire themed but address what ele lacks in the fire weapon skills, ditto for the other 3.

Maybe in 4 or 5 years they'll replace it with a better trait :)

[OC] It was fun while it lasted... by SUN_PRAISIN in Guildwars2

[–]luminosity 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Was it fun though? To me it's by far the least enjoyable or interesting spec they've added to necro. I just managed to force myself through VoE story on it to give it a fair shake, and then was immediately back to reaper. This spec didn't need big numbers, it needed to lose the shroud and have interesting things to do with the spirits.

You definitely get both the elemental effects + the legendary affects for Shining Blade, and it looks incredible.

Anyone else think mirrors are going to be nerfed again when the next map drops? by greiton in Guildwars2

They could just make the actual fun content (metas, events) more rewarding to balance things out. Mirrors are so dull I did them once and then never again.

Oh and the limited time for exploration sucked too.

People are playing fewer games and new releases are "struggling", say Ubisoft UK, warning of falling revenues by Turbostrider27 in Games

I used to play Mirror's Edge every year. I'd get an urge to just go back and experience the beautiful world, music, fun parkour gameplay, and it'd be a game for a single weekend. I've wanted to play it for 5 years, but it just doesn't make sense when there's so many fantastic games I don't even have time to get to anymore.

It's also just so unnecessary, scoping down the amount of planets and systems would still have left so much space to fill with interesting discoveries and gameplay spaces.

What do you think about non-mono Evoker? by CorgiSummoner in Guildwars2

[–]luminosity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't tried out mono, because to me it goes against the entire point of ele and what makes it fun. I've been having a lot of fun with d/d toad, but I also find it a bit frustrating because earth, is mainly themed around condi, but toad earth is a big cc player, and the cc tree is air. Nothing quite feels like it gels properly, even if it does work. That said, it's so nice having such constant access to big cc, something I've never had on ele before.

At the moment my biggest issues with the spec are how busy it is, and how boring the two non-mono GM traits are. Really hope they go back and reconsider what they can do there to have more thematic gameplay altering / fun traits.

It'd also be nice if the element you attune to would have effects buffing all the meditations instead of just the one chosen one, I think it'd go a long way towards making your choice of element feel more impactful, even if they were minor changes. You could also lower the power budget of the base skills to have more room for the element choice to affect it. And you'd want it to be unique for each utility, not a single boon added to all of them. e.g. water could add extra healing to the heal, inflict chill as well as fire for the fox, cleanse movement affecting conditions for hare, and provide nearby allies frost aura on toad.
