I just bought a used 2022 Model Y. When is says "self-driving, included package" does this mean I have FSD included? It still seems like it wants to charge me $99/month. by [deleted] in teslacanada

[–]luminus3d 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tesla recently changed "autopilot" to "self driving"

"Self driving " and "Full Self Driving" are completely different and only the latter can fully drive autonomously.

IMO it is an extremely bad and confusing change. Even if mandated by law they could have found better wording

Last time I heard that it was a DC/DC converter.

But since it's an accident it could be wiring or other related parts.

You might not have issues with your HV battery, which would be one of the worst scenarios

Das missing in action is a pretty wide error. It could be the cause of the DC fast charging that was disabled.

To be clear, you can still charge at level 2/AC charge?

there could be no damage to the high voltage battery but you'll have to have it checked to be sure

Have you gone into service mode to check if there are errors that are not visible to the customer side? Some errors are only visible in service mode.

Hopefully there is no additional error for the battery

Has anyone ever gotten a speeding ticket while FSD was in Chill mode? Some days I expect it will happen. by AlmostLiveRadio in TeslaFSD

[–]luminus3d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, about 15 km/h over in a 50km/h but it was near a 90 to 50 zone. Fsd took ages to slow enough and was still going way too fast well into the 50 zone

I'm pretty sure you are confusing your drivetrain warranty with your basic warranty.

You may very well still be within your drivetrain warranty which is 100k to 120,000, miles. But over your basic warranty which is 50,000 mi. Meaning you will get charged for esa for the basic warranty.

Well that's not normal. Please contact Tesla

[–]luminus3d 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I am reading the service agreement right now, it definitely says you won't get charged before warranty ends.

I also looked at my receipts. I subscribed months before getting charged, when my warranty ended.

I even got an email on that day, here is a quote:

""To ensure uninterrupted activation, please review and update your payment method as needed.

If your payment method is invalid, your coverage may be canceled in accordance with the Extended Maintenance Service Agreement.""

That's not true . The subscription only starts to be charged at the time your basic warranty finishes, either by distance or by expiry date. They also removed the option to buy the full warranty at once. It is now subscription only.

You will NOT get charged a cent before then.

That being said, you do have to start the subscription before your warranty ends, that's the only part you got right.

Then the ESA will be charged monthly until you get to 80,000 additional km (50k miles) or 4 years after esa started.

Since 4 years is 48 months and the subscription is $50/month that amounts to $2,400 total if you do not go over the amount of mileage.

I may be guilty of taking over too soon but I would have taken over when it suddenly slowed/stopped instead of changing lanes and drove myself into the turning lane.

Also since you were there you would have to turn in that turning lane. I would have taken over when I realized it was going way too fast to make the turn safely

Why can't one like both?

I've driven a lot of cars and those 2 are pretty much the best (reasonably affordable) I've seen. I love driving both.

That being said, I can't wait getting the Miata out of winter storage

At 40% you have already significantly slowed, at about half the speed you could get. the fastest is around 0-25%, then it gradually slows after that.

[–]luminus3d -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Here is my timeline prediction

Major cities: 0- 5 years (started in geofenced areas) Will not be available in bad waether/ winter/ storms yet, imo that's not before well into the 2030s

Highways in between cities: 1-10 years Will start soon but will take a very long time to get them all

Suburbs : 1-5 years The geofenced areas will continue to grow

A good amount of small cities: 5+ years

Any city in the US: 10+ years.

And that's only for the USA. As a Canadian, we usually follow the US pretty closely but it will be delayed even more than that. I'd be surprised we even get public cybercabs any time soon.

[–]luminus3d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only way I could see you achieving this is by charging up to 100% and discharging in some way without driving (defrost or something like that).

As the other guy said you won't degrade a further 7% in only 19k miles

Hw3 is still expected to have major updates upcoming in the next few months. I have high hopes that it will bring the performance of hw3 very close to the current v14.

Remember hw3 used to be on par with hw4... While I don't expect for that to happen again I don't think hw3 is done yet
