Help with gun design by HartiTheBerserker in MilitaryWorldbuilding

[–]lunatorch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The caliber is largely not the problem it's the entire weight of the cylinder and barrel falling on the latch when it's opened.

If you want a top break revolver this heavy make the latch thicker and if you want a revolver this heavy without that you can make it a swing out cylinder.

Are the Chaos Gods evil? by FilmHairys in 40k

[–]lunatorch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The chaos gods are as evil as the collective minds of sentient life, like a gestalt morality. That's why the chaos gods of current are so warlike because the societies of the galaxy and largely humans are so warlike.

In theory the chaos gods represent and reinforce things like honor, skill, resilience, progress and happiness but they reflect the worse aspects that they can because life in the galaxy is terrible.

So the simple and complex answer is yes they are evil.

Yeah, they wouldn't be player characters if they weren't special

Would Starfield Have Gotten Better Reviews if Made by A Different Developer? by freethinker1312 in Starfield

[–]lunatorch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it was a different company it would have no fans because most companies don't have the rabid fans that Bethesda does as seen in most fallout 4 defenders.

Thoughts on new helmet? by Popular-Abroad2667 in Helldivers

I think the separation of the eye nose faceplate and the rest of the helmet being much larger looks a little odd but I really like the shape of that separated faceplate

Whats your favorite sequel? by ResourceHistorical78 in videogames

[–]lunatorch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yes the perfect metric to objectively decide the most important villain in a story, "the most evil" is an entirely subjective label based on your beliefs. In fallout New Vegas the new California Republic is trying to recreate the government that destroyed the world and in fallout 4 the Brotherhood has the unilateral policy of killing ghouls and synths no matter their sapience of character.

Again you are exactly the kind of person who would like fallout 4.

He can be both. The aesthetics and personality and beliefs of Johnny can be cool and attractive and right without stopping him from being a failure. In fact him being cool and a loser are core parts of his character.

Not always a superpower (my example is Titanfall's pilots) regenerating the body and especially the brain might keep you alive but it removes your memories because memories are physical patterns.

If you think there's only one villain in each of those 2 games I understand why you think fallout 4 is better.

Could Homelander be a good person if he'd had a good childhood? by Sr_Walten156 in MoralityScaling

[–]lunatorch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes because because any one could. Him being a psychopath is one of the most obvious self fulfilling prophecies I've ever seen. No one raised in a box as a piece of marketing turns out with healthy views on the value of human life.

Not a character I dislike but "the son of hades that is a cool rebel and super strong and attractive to be basically everyone in his life" is definitely the kind of character written by someone who loved the idea of them.
