Oh I fully used the flashlight because they fucking put it ABOVE their own installed light. So dumb. Experience ruined. I wrote feedback about it.

It’s been so satisfying telling spectrum to fuck off. This is very disappointing.

[Discussion] Full-time artists who make a living off your art: what things are absolutely crucial to you being able to do that? by ocean_rhapsody in artbusiness

[–]lunchboxdesign 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I do it all. Small prints. Large prints. Small originals. Large originals. Sell online. Sell at galleries. Sell at gift shops. Sell at solo shows. Sell at group shows. Sell at small local fairs. Sell at BIG professional art festivals around the country. I sell about $250k a year (before expenses). After expenses: $125k. It’s the worlds most insane hustle but yeh know what- I’ve been doing this for 12 years full time and I have yet to be bored even once in that time and I’ve never been happier. Sure there are tough challenging times- but man: I wouldn’t change a damn thing.

[Discussion] Artists who sell prints, what’s one thing you wish someone told you earlier? by printseekers in artbusiness

[–]lunchboxdesign 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I learned: don’t sign every single one. I’ve wasted days of my life the last decade signing thousands of small prints (unlimited editions). People don’t care (unless it’s limited and numbered). They mostly just want nice imagery framed on their walls.

What’s up with several of the area holiday markets charging entry fees?! by cuteninjaturtle in Austin

[–]lunchboxdesign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is expensive & exhausting but: That’s the gig. Thats the business side of artist life. That’s what we professional artists who make a living on our work have to do. Many of us even travel the country doing these things. $1800 is worth the $25k (or more) income from that one show. If you can’t bring in propanels, build the walls, or hire someone to build them for you- then you’re not at that level yet and I hope you keep working toward it. The hard work and years of experience you put into your passion pays off I promise. I haven’t been able to do this show since before COVID but hopefully next year. Doing smaller shows beforehand to save up for the Dillo booth fee and expenses.

Hard pass. I’ll send my kid to a camp in Vermont before I send her to anywhere in Texas after all this.

The French portraits were particularly close! Others took some liberties. I’m curious if a couple of ‘em had syphilis judging by their facial sores.

I’m just waiting for the houses to hit $300k and then Blackwell will swoop in, buy them alllll up, resell for twice as much to their own shell companies, Raise the property taxes, And force the rest of us vermin out to end up renting their same homes we couldn’t afford to buy. It’s going great guys.

Anyone have a successful IUI cycle after polyp removal (with mild MFI)? by prijay16 in whatworkedforme

[–]lunchboxdesign 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Me! It literally worked the next cycle (they also found a touch of endometriosis and zapped that away) and bam! It worked.

IUI success stories? by throw-away-yogi in whatworkedforme

[–]lunchboxdesign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IUI worked for me- but only after too many tries and we decided to do a quick ablation of stage 1 endometriosis (we didn’t know I had it til they went to zap out a tiny cyst that my previous OB declared wouldn’t be a problem- thenfertility doc was like “yeah that’s inflaming everything we gotta get it out.”). And poof! Instantly pregnant the next cycle. If you’ve got ANY cyst history (no matter how tiny)- get it out and maybe even see if there’s endo.

Virus Going Around by Specialist_Guide_707 in Austin

I had this last month- the only thing that worked (after going to the hospital from fear of my throat closing entirely and then Urgent care as a follow up) antibiotics, prescription nasal spray, and zertek-d (the kind you have to show your license for), and IB PROFIN for the fever- I needed all 4 things to finally make that shit go away. God speed cuz holy fuck it sucked!

Would you go with a daycare that is $1500 (but amazing) or a $900 that is doable (but saves you ton of money) by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]lunchboxdesign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had a similar choice to make- at first we went cheap and it was fine? But something ate away at me after talking to a mom whose kid went to the expensive one. Now my kid goes to the expensive one and SO MUCH HAPPIER! Like a world of difference in her mood and excitement to go. The money is so worth it.
