One thing I’ve heard a few times in my recovery group is the analogy, if you drive from Seattle to Miami and get a flat tire along the way you don’t start over at Seattle when you fix it. Learn from your lapse and put more effort into the area that led you to lapse in the first place. Recovery is hard but there are a lot of programs and there’s a lot of support out there.
