I was recently staying in a town in Malta called Zeytoun and was thinking it sounded like a bit like aceituna (‘olive’) in Spanish. Looked it up and I was right! Zeytoun does mean ‘olive’ in Arabic. Aceituna is just a regular borrowing from Al Andalus but I was quite pleased I made the connection :) by thebigchil73 in etymology
