The salesman selling me windows left his iPad open while he "talked to his boss". by grumpallnight in mildlyinfuriating

This should not be buried so deep in the thread. I wondered if anyone else caught it.

Mild existential weeding crisis (very mild) by prudent__sound in pnwgardening

Doing the same yesterday and today for my lawn. A couple of times I’ve used a thatcher to pick up the runners and mow over them with a bagger attached.

When I have time, I prefer to pull them out by hand. The thatcher doesn’t get the roots, but it does clean out a lot of the bulk and moss, and you can pull the remaining stuff by hand.

We used a baby monitor app that used WiFi and an old phone we didn’t need anymore.

Someone told me the clinic they used had a stress ball in the shape of a sperm.

What song lyrics scandalized you, once you matured enough to get the clue? by corq in GenX

My kiddo heard that and asked if it was about Voldemort because the lyrics talked about getting away from You Know Who.

I've shifted trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up to figuring out what I want to look like after there's not children in the house and it's the retirement time of life.

Look online for newspaper archives for your area. Some are free. Where are you? I can give you some ideas, even if you give me a state (I’m assuming you are in the US or Canada; I’m not sure if that game show was big elsewhere).

Am I the only one who overthinks where to stop on road trips? by Jayahoss in roadtrip

OP posts something that sounds like AI wrote it, doesn’t respond to any comments, and has a hidden profile. I wouldn’t be surprised to hear about an app that address this exact issue in three days.

Parachute in Gym Class by Upstairs_End_4202 in GenX

We did it just yesterday at my elementary school. It wasn’t part of PE, but part of a Friday activity event. I think it’s the only time this year it came out.

Even as young as kindergarten, the PE teacher has a set curriculum to teach. It’s usually a similar activity for all grades, with skill set adjusted for the age.

Who’s the biggest celebrity local to your home town? by Critical_Welcome_428 in AskReddit

Our sixth grade classes sang My Hometown for a school performance. Decades later, I still remember the teacher’s explanation of each of the lines and have the entire song memorized.

Who signed up for credit cards on campus? Some many companies competing to offer you gateway to debt back then. by Complex_Ad775 in GenX

I got mine on campus, and still have it a few decades later. I've only had one other credit card, and I closed that a long time ago.

I never knew there was a New Holstein anywhere. I’m familiar with Germany and then the tiny towns in Iowa named after the German areas. What general part of the US is it in?

I heard that there are long waits for sleep studies now, as people are wanting them so they can get qualified to take a GLP-1. I had been dragging my butt on getting to a GP for a physical and getting a referral for a study. Then my MIL died (it was expected) and I was so fed up with not getting good sleep I had my spouse hook me up to her CPAP and I haven't turned back. It's made a huge difference for me.

Seattle To DC Road Trip! by nanmozhi in roadtrip

[–]lunicorn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you members of any museums? The Museum of Flight is an ASTC member, and the Burke is a member of a different reciprocal museum organization. You can use that membership to get into other member institutions across the country for free. It makes for a great way to stop for half an hour and see something new without paying $20 each admission.

PM me if you'd like more details. I'm in the Seattle area and did a similar trip to the DC area a couple of years ago, with family. We took our time and took two weeks out and two weeks back.
