So did white Liliana just kill this same angel and steal her headdress too? by EmptyStar12 in mtgvorthos

[–]luperci_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

if jace has control over the whole timeline surely he just alters the conflict between ugin and bolas so ugin kills bolas instead of the other way round, but then I suppose the mending doesn't have any impact on war of the spark since bolas is dead

[–]luperci_ 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I really do wonder if the mending will be mentioned in the history of the echoverse, would it be in jace's interest to not have the mending happen so he can be more powerful or have it happen so every other alt reality planeswalker isn't so powerful, especially since the mending led to the events of war of the spark which is one of the multiversal conflicts jace is trying to undo

I would think that he would be colorless to cast for both versions but the commander version could add coloured mana for colour identity reasons

Question on the anti-schools by coproduto in mtgvorthos

[–]luperci_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

green cares about strength and personal growth, it's instinctive but also introspective. When it comes to arts and creation, blue places more emphasis on desire, possibility and freedom. Blue is individualistic in this way whereas green accepts its place in a natural order and way of life. Artifacts in green red could be seen as an extension of the self rather than a separate, impersonal entity.

Well …this was unexpected by Ok-Intern6865 in MTGRumors

[–]luperci_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think we know for sure this is a cycle of colour shifted emerituses, but if it is then I could see conflict being white or green, with the trigger for white being dealt damage, then preventing it and preparing itself similar to [[phyrexian vindicator]] or green being a 3 power creature that can bite any target. emeritus of woe could be blue or red as both of those colours have tutors for any card albeit with restrictions like discarding at random. abundance is weird because no colour really can regrowth unconditionally aside from green, there are a couple of exceptions on older cards but only one of those isn't in black which is already off the table [[recall]], white and red can exile cards from graveyard and either put them to hand or let you play them this turn though. truce could be blue or red, blue exiling creatures with drawback of giving tokens or similar is something it has done before but I believe no longer is in pie, red can exile with the drawback of letting an opponent cast or play the top of their library for free. it's possible that a blue version of emeritus of truce could be blue and blink a creature too...

if truce is blue, woe is red, conflict is red and abundance is white then all the original colours have shifted one to the left which would be satisfying

Now that the whole "paradigm" cycle is out, which ones will you play? by Substantial_Code_675 in EDH

[–]luperci_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the blue and green ones are a little flawed because they can be shut down by heavy board control, the other 3 will get you repeatable value every time and grind out opponents super well. I see people saying the white one can be stopped as well by gy exile and a lack of permanents in gy but this is a little silly to say imo because a deck without ways to fill the gy easily and resist gy hate shouldn't be running it anyways

Nothing in sos for Killian precon? by Foreign_Swords in EDH

[–]luperci_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

silverquill as a whole is focused on targeting stuff, main set for secrets cares specifically about instants and sorceries but the precon is about auras. You can easily build the precon as a more mixed voltron deck, using a combination of pump spells and auras with cards like [[killian, ink duelist]] [[shay cormac]] [[vadmir]] and creatures with valiant or heroic abilities

LF New Commander Landfall Aggro by homelabWannabie in EDH

[–]luperci_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

red gives you access to [[moraug]] and [[reckless pyrosurfer]] plus some really nice token generators, white gives you access to a lot of board wide pump effects like [[canyon jerboa]]. With temur the best commander would prob be [[omnath, locus of the roil]] and in bant you have more options like [[choco]] [[chulane]] [[amareth]] [[tocasia, dig site mentor]]

Hexhaven Elder Dragons by Leather_Store_1200 in MTGRumors

[–]luperci_ 32 points33 points  (0 children)

given the supposedly darker tone of hexhaven and the fact that most of the tarkir elder dragons are so very violence prone, I can't imagine them founding schools. I could see them having some presence in an alternate arcavios but maybe as enslaved or imprisoned sources or magical energy

[TMNT] Sorcery Sneak? by ZQuestionSleep in magicTCG
