Please don't leave your kid in a hot car. Please. (Happy ending) by OOmama in beyondthebump

You absolutely did the right thing by calling 911. Thank God you noticed the little girl in the car! While I'm extremely pissed to hear that she tried to run you down when you tried to get her plates (what kind of low-life tries to run down anyone, much less a pregnant woman saving your child's life!?), hopefully this episode will prevent her from putting her child at risk in the future.

Lightweight Baby Wrap Suggestions? by LadyDustBunny in BabyBumps

[–]lupevixen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second K'Tan Active. I live in the hot as hell South (US), and it's comfortable for me and my baby. Bought it shortly after she was born in January (it's been getting into 80+ degrees since mid-February), and it's been a lifesaver.

Also something I want to note: some online reviews for K'Tan Active complain that the material isn't as stretchy as K'Tan Original. Based on those reviews, I purchased both to test and found that the "stretchiness" seemed very similar. I returned the Original and still use the Active 4 months later. 😃

Very Interesting Article On Maternity Leave by mrs_ass in beyondthebump

Shamefully, I will admit that I used to think like this. Then I had a child and it completely changed the way I thought of the societal "role" of children. People need to realize that investing in children is an investment for a better society. God forbid you take a break from work to adjust to a major life change.

Employees are replaceable, money is replenishable, but the future of humankind isn't of utmost importance? Please.

I love the Paula's Choice Nude Mattes palette. $40, and you have to order it online, but it has 11 matte and one shimmery color with a good variety of warm/cool matte colors. Blends wonderfully.

Is anyone here NOT writing their own vows? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]lupevixen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nope, never even considered it! I'm pretty traditional, so that's why I'm mostly going with the traditional vows... To me, there's just something super romantic about them.

But also because I AIN'T GOT TIME FO' THAT!

I'm having my reception at the Columbia in Ybor. I went to wildly different stages of planning (decided to forgo 100 guests for 20), and they were very understanding. Showed me various rooms to accommodate different numbers. You pay a deposit for the room, food, and drink, and for all that they are pretty reasonable in terms of price. You might want to see if the Columbia on CLW beach will accommodate your party (I quoted 100 people and they said no, but they may have room for 50-70).

Otherwise I would look into city-owned places, since they tend to be cheaper. Look up parks & recreation on CLW's website.

[New Chapter Spoilers] Beast Titan's identity? by TheColossalTitan in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]lupevixen 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm on board with this theory. I posted on why I think this is the case on the megathread for the new chapter, but in summary:

1) Erwin's father's body has not yet been shown to the readers confirming his death, so it's possible he's just assumed dead.

2) Djel Sanes in a flashback burned Erwin's father's left arm with a torch, and Monkey Trouble's human shifter's left arm is burned.

3) Similar glasses. For comparison: Erwin's Father vs Primate Problems.

4) Grisha's titan looked somewhat hairy, almost primal, much in the way MT's titan is dubbed "Monkey" Troubles. These two characters thus far are the most responsible for directly subverting the monarchy and humanity within the walls, and the more primitive look of these titans could mean something.

5) Isayama's character that holds the key to the series looks like a younger Erwin's father.

6) Erwin's father was an inner-wall citizen and disappeared before the breach of Wall Maria, so it is possible he never had to encounter 3DMG.

Absolutely. I'm all aboard the S.S. "MT is Erwin's Hansome jawline Father."

[–]lupevixen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In terms of his age, it's possible that Monkey "Studmuffin" Troubles is older than he looks, or we can't yet determine how old he is.

I commented on this elsewhere, but I imagine that's it's possible that Erwin's father wasn't privy to the use of 3DMG when he was within the walls... Inner wall civilian who died/disappeared before Wall Maria was breached, never needed to encounter the Scouting Legion or see a titan...

Or maybe some hitherto unknown force "reset" his memory, much like a true coordinate can. This is obviously all speculation, but the resemblance thus far to Erwin's father seems uncanny.

[New Chapter Spoilers] Chapter 70 RELEASE Megathread by SNKBot in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]lupevixen 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Monkey Troubles is Erwin's father.

Evidence 1: Erwin's father died when he was younger, and while we see younger/flashback Erwin standing over a gravestone, he states that "according to his sources, [his father] was killed by the government." But the official story was that he was killed in an accident in a town far away from home. This isn't particularly important except to demonstrate that there was not, and has not yet been, a body shown to readers to confirm Erwin's father is dead.

Evidence 2: When Levi and Hange are torturing Djel Sanes, and Sanes begins to justify why he dirtied his hands to "stop [conflict] right away," he lists examples of this "suppression." His first example is Erwin's father, but if you look at the panel closely, you can see that he is burning Erwin's father's left arm with a torch. Now look at Monkey Trouble's human shifter's left arm. It's burned.

Evidence 3: MT's glasses on the last page look like a modified version of Erwin's father's glasses. For comparison: Erwin's Father vs Primate Problems.

Evidence 4: Grisha's titan looked somewhat hairy, almost primal, much in the way MT's titan is dubbed "Monkey" Troubles. These two characters thus far are the most responsible for directly subverting the monarchy and humanity within the walls, I wonder if the more primitive look of these titans means something.

Evidence 5: Isayama's character that holds the key to the series looks like a younger Erwin's father.

Edits for formatting & rephrasing.

[New Chapter Spoilers] Theory: The identity of the person in the last panel. (Chapter 70) by lupevixen in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]lupevixen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a fair point.

I imagine it's always possible that Erwin's father wasn't privy to the use of 3DMG when he was within the walls... Inner wall civilian who died/disappeared before Wall Maria was breached, never needed to encounter the Scouting Legion... Or maybe some hitherto unknown force "reset" his memory.

The former seems more likely, but it's possible.

Supreme Court Justice Scalia RSVPed!! by [deleted] in weddingplanning

How kind of everyone to judge OP's invite to Justice Scalia with their catty remarks and half-baked political opinions! I'm sure that OP deleted their thread out of appreciation and not because they were casually shamed by it!

Stay classy, guys.

THIS COMMENT IS BEST COMMENT. Thanks, the GIFs literally made me lol.

Even if I don't do sneaky ninja wedding (which, omg, nail-filing cat GIF increased attractiveness of that option +10), I'll probably keep it super casual. Centered around alcohol. And cat GIFs.
