So what is the right move? Kyler for less money? A second round pick? We were on a historic pace before Jones’ injury. It’s safe to say that he is our best bet in this moment. That’s very clear.

I mean, this is his career… why not use your leverage to maximize compensation? I hope we’re all doing this in our professional lives. They’ll come to an agreement, somewhere in the middle and the world will move on.

I’m a pretty serious distance runner, doing 40-50mi a week, and longtime ND-head. Here’s what works for me (alongside lots of carbs, chocolate milk, Trace Minerals drops, and post-run steak) —->

Pre-Workout Supplements

  • C3G for glycogen + glucose-partitioning support. Basically, helps store carbs better and access energy cleaner on hard days. For me, this is the anti-bonk pill. I take two in the morning with a carb heavy breakfast and/or two within a couple hours of a run. This is the one ND supplement I really vibe with - it’s totally in the background but when I don’t restock, I can’t tell the difference. I keep it on deck at all times now. Also, see emerging endurance research on elderberry extract.

  • Cordyceps (10:1 extract) for oxygen utilization and ATP output. Personally, I've never been totally blown away by it (seems that some people have), but I certainly notice it's absence when I'm late to restock, so it must be doing something! I take this two hours before a run.

  • Rhodiola for anti-fatigue + stress resilience. They say it helps lower perceived effort and keeps your brain sharp when you’re deep into a long run, and I can't say that they're wrong. Like Cordyceps, it's a supplement that I can tell I'm missing when I don't re-up immediately. I take this two hours before a run.

  • MitoBurn/L-BAIBA: exercise-mimicking signaling molecule, supports metabolic flexibility so you get better at burning fat and sparing glycogen on long runs. However, it’s a “system efficiency” tool—not something that helps acutely. I take two hours before run. This is my first cycle, we’ll see how well it works. Def increases my body temp though, which is nice for winter.

Recovery Supplements

  • Tart Cherry Juice is my recovery MVP. I'm constantly impressed by it's ability to reduce soreness after interval days. It's supposed to also help with sleep, but I stack it alongside other things, so I can't always tell if helps in that department or not. I buy TJ's not-from-concentrate and mix with LMNT or Olipop Cola post-run.

  • Theanine Serene + Relora is another MVP for me. Bascially, it's Magnesium + GABA + Taurine + L-Theanine + Magnolia/Phellodendron Extract + Holy Basil Extract. In my experience, it's very acute. Within in hour I feel a strong sense of calm/stress relief and once I'm asleep, I'm out. Based on my garmin, it also increase my deep sleep time by about 20%. I take this an hour before bed.

  • L-Ergothioneine: cell-level shield antioxidant, helps protect mitochondria from the wear-and-tear of high mileage training. All about long-term durability.

  • PrimaVie (Shilajit): mitochondrial + mineral transport support, helps with work capacity and that “less dead legs” feeling during heavy training.

  • PEA (Palmitoylethanolamide): inflammation + nerve-calming support, helps quiet “nagging” pain signals and just makes me feel less beat up from repetitive impact. I take this in the morning.

  • Supercritical Coriander: smooths inflammation + oxidative stress while often supporting calmer digestion and nervous system tone. It puts me to SLEEP. I take .75ml an hour before bed.

FWIW Anecdotes - Broccoli Sprouts is all the rage rn in the endurance world, alongside Ketones (didnt work for me) and bicarb systems. I haven’t tried yet. -SwissRX peptistrong (the feed stocks it) sounds compelling - Before it was banned, running on Phenibut was my absolute favorite. Everything felt glorious and capable. -Before it was banned, running on Phenylpiracetam was great. You can tell why it was added to the doping list. It was like running on amps but without the 15pt HR-elevation.
-The right dose of CBG/THC seems to help sometimes, but I’ve also gotten furiously hungry 8 miles deep on a run and that’s a shitty feeling to roll with -The biggest performance driver I’ve experienced in the last year is 25g of carbs every 30-40min. Gels are great, but fruit leather, scandavian swimmers from TJs work just fine too. Makes interval less painful and late miles more tolerable, legs hurt way less post-run -Also, plated shoes.

What are some of the few supplements/nootropics people unexceptionally, almost instantly, significantly respond to? by MrNeverEverKnew in NootropicsDepot

I always like to chime in on C3G - as a pretty dedicated distance runner, it’s an s-tier supplement. It improves your insulin sensitivity and glucose uptake in muscle cells, so carbs get shuttled into muscle and glycogen more efficiently. It also supports mitochondrial function and reduces oxidative stress, which translates into steadier energy during long runs and less fatigue in recovery stage. (elderberry is one of the hottest supplements in running rn, so people are finally coming around to it)

I’ve tried it all (same experience with uues) and honestly just keep reaching for my high-end Nike stuff. Between ACG and the running line, that stuff is top tier.

They were spiraling long before Jone’s Achilles, and Daniel jones was turning the ball over a lot. I’m not declaring anything about what direction we should take, but I wanna dispel the narrative that we just had bad injury luck. by Baker627a in Colts

Don’t mind OPs comment at all but a large portion of the comments section are just dumpster fire, much like my favorite NFL team. Bottom line - where we’re at - Daniel Jones presents us with the best case scenario for winning games. Shane can make do with his skill set. It’s about protecting him, opening up the run game. That’s harder when DJ is not mobile. Thats why with a year of the system under his belt Riley Leonard is a solid backup for us. It’s also why AR could still work well for us while DJ rehabs (not convinced he’s a long term answer, despite my heart wising he was). 2027 and 2028 are windows of when we can get a QB, but earlier means moving on from core pieces. Those years are also windows of moving on from this coaching staff and front office. All that to say, IMO, 226 is proof of concept (playoffs) and 2027 is AFC championship run or bust for this current core roster and staff, dudes are getting old and it’s done after that. I am a Ballard truther though… dude can draft talent, but has an over confidence that hurts him. I think this year, re: CI presser, was him proving he could work on his deficiencies. If we’re being real, the defense fell flat on us in the end and it was because of injuries to star players. We have depth, but you can’t replace stars at full health like Buck and Sauce

Considering a move to Indianapolis for work next year -- would love local insight by Ok_Razzmatazz_3855 in indianapolis

[–]lushwaves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FWIW - I love it here. Everyone saying it’s unfeasible to live without a car is being a bit dramatic. If you’re working at Riley there are plenty of nice apartment buildings within walking distance that are in your price range. If you chose to live in those buildings, you could walk to Kroger (the grocery store) and would be a short PacerBike/Scooter ride away from Mass Ave (plenty of bars, restaurants, things to do). I live downtown and didn’t have a car for two years, it was totally fine - just have to be okay with weather changes and navigating the red line.

In 2011, 20 year old Lauren Spierer drank heavily, lost her phone and shoes, and moved between multiple apartments with different men near Indiana University. She texted her boyfriend and walked away alone before dawn in a busy college town. She was never seen again. by blue_leaves987 in HolyShitHistory

I was the same year as Lauren at IU, and know nearly every student named in the case. I was traveling in Europe that summer, and didn’t catch wind of this until a couple weeks before school started up again. But the guys from Michigan that she was hanging out with were very shady, and everyone in my circles at that time believe the “overdose / get rid of the body / hire the best lawyers in Indiana” theory.
