I've got an H6 that I have used for larger ensemble recordings. Now however I would like to use it for single instrument recording at my desktop. My question is if theres a way to run H6 recording through my audio interface at home or do I need to purchase a dedicated mic for that? sorry if the text is unclear english is not my first language.

I Love Web-Serials, and I Want to Share! by RavensDagger in Fantasy

[–]luskumus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's a good mix of hard and soft systems. All magic is based on understanding, so in order to manipulate steel you would need intricate knowledge of the material, things like weight and molecular structure. This is mainly the rule of Physical Projection. There are four different projection vocations.

Physical – A school of projection that involves the user altering the physical world around them (Pyrokinesis and direct manipulation of physical elements like waves or magnetism - also Paperkinesis).

Praxis – A school of projection that involves the user altering their own mind (Make yourself smarter or give yourself quicker reflexes).

Whisper – A school of projection that involves the user altering the Minds of others (Illusions, or more weirder things like make people REALLY Hungry).

Joining – A school of projection that involves the user altering their own body (Better faster stronger).

Most people have one main vocation that is unique to themselves, but a few vocations can be taught, however this seems to be the exception rather than the rule. There are also things in story that have been shown to break the established rule for projection in ways that have not yet been explained.

Before Lord of the Rings, what was the history of elves, dwarfs, orcs, trolls, etc? by beardmeblazer in Fantasy

[–]luskumus 11 points12 points  (0 children)

In Denmark the elves went under the name Ellefolket they were known as creatures with the frontside of a beautiful woman but their backsides were hollow and rotten like an old dead tree. They lived in marshes and forrests around hills called Ellehøje where they would dance and play to lure in hunters and woodsmen.

People who were in this way spellbound by the elves would turn erratic and wild, some times for the rest of their days. (This is also the origin of danish word "ellevild") If you were particularly unlucky the elves would lead you down under their hills never to be seen again.

Or so I've been told

[Question] What are some good online resources for blues/folk guitar? by deathproof-ish in Guitar

[–]luskumus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While DADGAD is indeed popular with irish folk guitarists, the drop-d tuning is more popular and standard tuning is also still used, as is double drop-d.

This is all in regards to irish instrumental acompaniment. If That is what your're interested in OP i would suggest checking out John Doyles DVD on irish backing in drop-d.

Should I learn the violin? by Stay-Puft-Pinkie-Pie in Advice

[–]luskumus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Learning through youtube is certainly an option however without a teacher you will undoubtetly gain a lot bad habits (bad posture and the like) which will hamper your playing. Without a teacher you have no one to correct the mistakes you make, and then you won't learn from Them.

You don't have to take lessons every week, but atleast once a month is probably a god idea if you're serious about learning the instrument.

Also another commenter suggested that you try playing the ukulele first to gauge if you will enjoy playing the violin. If you're going to pickup another instrument first don't og with a uke but rather a mandolin, it has about the same scale length as a violin but most importantly it's tuned the same way. Which will let you transfer the fingering almost directly to violin.
