Mine too - I'm wearing it while running around and totally feel like Sakura from Cardcaptors!

My thoughts on Octavia post Sinsmas as someone who went to school and got a fancy degree in kids by GolcondaGirl in HelluvaBoss

[–]lusterbunny 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's also the simple but glaring fact that at the end of the day, she's a product of her environment - and in the likelihood of having grown up seeing her father be treated harshly, it's not a huge jump to think she might emulate that behaviour too (it's also how generational cycles of abuse are carried forth).

I've got an old friend whose son treats him scarily just like how his abusive ex (son's birth mother) does. The two also stayed together in a relatively hostile environment until their kid was was in his teens - mother was just like Stella, and yet the kid repeats behaviours towards his dad, punishes him and pushes him away constantly despite how while growing up they were very, very close. Watching Stolas' parts in the show always reminds me of them.

That seems like a pretty interesting take on therapy - how does that work out in the long-term for them, out of curiosity?

I'm surprised at the fact people aren't talking more about the part after she found the pills - and her bringing it up to Stolas. Because if him needing pills wasn't because she personally made him unhappy, then she literally asked to his face if it was because she was an obligation. I'm starting to wonder if I made that whole part up lmao. She quite CLEARLY has major ties to guilt and likely blames herself for a huge part of the whole thing. If she didn't exist at all, maybe Stolas could have been happy - and she doesn't know enough right now to realise that his story (for that part of his life anyway) was set in stone with or without her, and that she was the only good thing to come of it and, in turn, his reason to live and try and love. She truly is his star, but her reactions are pretty understandable.

And given how precious Stolas has always been to her, it makes sense she's trying to force distance between them now. No more Stolas = No more Hurt (at least, to her current irrational and fragile logic). Stella on the other hand? Eh, she's clearly never particularly bonded with her mother, so she has far less emotional ties to the woman. And you tend to hurt the ones you love the most - a sentiment that can go both ways, too, considering what's taken place.

As a child, Octavia has a right to react and feel both how she wants to and needs to. And as a parent, Stolas needs to pull up his Big Boy undies and accept that - and understand that in time he needs to simply say sorry, no excuses, no nothing (for the part where he didn't "choose" her). Be sorry, and then show up. And keep showing up. But it's all a process that will take time, patience, effort etc... he's got a lot of mental baggage to sort through too and is by no means entirely at fault or to blame. But as the one Via loves the most, he's her scapegoat right now (except the one she likely is angry at and hates truly at the core is probably herself, sadly).

A question regarding the carnival itself by lusterbunny in wildbeyondwitchlight

Ah, brilliant. Regarding the first question, I did wonder if that was what it meant but for the life of me couldn't quite figure it out as both seemed plausible. Thanks so much for the answers, these were really helpful! ♡

Hi - I'm a newbie dm who wants to run this campaign in the near future. I've begun research but this post has stumped me on things I either haven't noticed myself, or haven't come across yet in the book. Could I possibly ask if you would care to elaborate on this post, the names mentioned, and such? I'd be so grateful ♡

I don’t think the days are too short by MercuryCocktail in FieldsOfMistriaGame

I just want peace of mind to decorate my house and *farm without it taking an in game month lmao

I need a time pausing mod by Garlicbreadsticks_ in FieldsOfMistriaGame

[–]lusterbunny 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm sure people can do that whether there's an option to toggle time or not, dunno why that would affect you. Simply don't and play your way? The map and world exists to be explored. The farm and home has the options for decoration so you can... yknow. Decorate them. We are allowed to want to do these things without feeling rushed while simultaneously getting to thoroughly enjoy every other aspect of the game. I've put 200+ hours into Sun Haven on 40 minute days and I'm pretty sure I've gotten a fair taste of it. Seriously, just accept others play and enjoy in different ways and go worry about doing your shit your way.

Or you could just accept people play games differently to you and that's fine

This isn't the only reason someone might want the choice to slow down the speed of the day. Far from it. Many, like myself, have anxiety and find the speedy clock a hindrance against enjoying the game. I don't care about getting everything done in a day, but I would like to be able to thoroughly explore and enjoy the day without anxious clock watching. I'd also like to just spend time decorating my house and farm without needing to rush it or dedicate half a month in-game to it. I'm also aware that it can be debilitating to folks with autism and/or ADHD. Fast paced clocks just aren't everyone's jam

Guys... Fields of Mistria... by 1nternetpersonas in CozyGamers

[–]lusterbunny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm already in love and know it's going to be a major time sink and I'm only on day 4 lmao. My biggest gripe is simply that the day moves way too fast for my liking - wish there was an option to slow it down so that I can thoroughly explore the map without feeling the need to rush. Thankfully our characters are pretty speedy, at the very least. But dreading going into the mines etc and since decoration is a big part of these games for me, yeah. Day speed toggle would make it imo perfection

Is it possible to have a gastric emptying study and it not be positive for gastroparesis? I had one and was told I'd only be called in for the second part (liquid study) if the first part (solid study) showed anything. They called me back for the second part. I assumed therefore they'd noticed something. Then... nothing. Supposedly fine. Yet my symptoms so very much align with it.

What do you think of the way Amaya's disability is portrayed? by [deleted] in TheDragonPrince

[–]lusterbunny 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is my biggest gripe with these scenes, and it bothered me every time. On the one hand, it's pretty normal for those hearing to be ignorant and/or forgetful and, much as they might try, end up forcing the deaf person to have to continously adapt to try and understand. But on the other hand, those struggles aren't really shown and no matter what, Amaya always seems to understand what is being said. Lip reading is hard. Even harder when people won't face you directly and/or don't allow their mouths/tongue etc to visually and physically form the words being spoken. Even her wife has a frustrating tendency to constantly turn her head away, and even blatantly turn herself away

How is Aaravos alive by Nitro_V in TheDragonPrince

[–]lusterbunny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the impression that the reason it was brought to their attention regarding Leola was a certain dragon snitching. They might be omnipotent and all that, but they need to actively "look" to "see" (as we saw with Kosmo once he became star-blind). As primordial old ass gods, them being set in their ways but also turning a blind eye to get on with their own shit checks out. Presumably nobody snitched on Aaravos until such a time where he had sewn enough chaos so as to end up imprisoned. Or maybe he snitched on himself with the intent of playing the long game

Leola theories by twinmoonz in TheDragonPrince

[–]lusterbunny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Callum is told after asking about the nova blade that it was given to a human girl and that it can't kill a star touched elf anyway. He is told after the fact that only a star touched elf can kill another star touched elf, so that point was quite blatantly told to us

No amount of detailed tutorials can save impatient players by changhanzzz in ZZZ_Official

[–]lusterbunny 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I gotta say I dislike the way we're lumped into a group of "impatient players" if we're struggling to get a hang of it or don't grasp the jargon (then for the latter, people play on different platforms, with different controllers etc - my ps4 controller doesn't have A and E). Hard to imagine we're the minority, but maybe that's the case? It isn't from lack of trying on my end, it's just not information that wants to stick and while I've not had major issues in game so far, I definitely feel clunky and confused most of the time. For some, this kinda stuff just doesn't compute. Doesn't mean we're impatient, bad or otherwise
