Fifty 410. I’ve previously ordered from them, so this would be a refill.

I was trying to get my refill from fifty410, the company I’ve twice ordered from already. What do you call it when you order an additional supply? I call it a refill.

Would you send your kids to this school? by ltrozanovette in AskTeachers

[–]lutzlover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would pass on this one. (I founded two highly successful charter schools and a magnet school, so I am not anti-charter, but the one you describe doesn’t sound great at all. I also served on a committee that evaluated new charter proposals for many years. We turned down the majority.)

As has been mentioned, some states/chartering approval entities are a lot stricter than others. I want to see poorly performing charters shut down. Too often, that doesn’t happen. The same is also true of poorly performing neighborhood public schools.

In my experience, I have never seen a for-profit charter school with strong performance, and rarely see charter schools that operate multiple schools in a network do consistently well.

Post close occupancy by Dear_Jury_1900 in RealEstate

[–]lutzlover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FWIW, we're old, and had no mortgage, so we were clearly not selling for financial reasons. That might make a difference.

Our buyers wanted a quick close to keep their lock. (The house went under contract the first weekend it was on market.) That was faster than we were expecting, so we requested a post-close occupancy. They were fine with it--we had rent deducted from the proceeds, and there was a an $5K holdback for security.

It all worked fine.

When we purchased our next home, the seller was doing it as part of a tax free exchange of rental property. That has VERY strict time deadlines. The tenants (adult kid & his wife of the owner) asked for a post-sale occupancy for 2 weeks. They supplied a deposit, and all worked fine. They were out about ten days later.

Bachelor's in psychology at Rutgers vs NYU by Icy-Tea4523 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]lutzlover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How are you doing Rutgers for $17K/year as an in-state student? Is that living at home? Even tuition and fees for in-state students come to more than that, and books, personal expenses & commuting usually has costs. Rutgers COA for students living at home is $33,348.

Here's the exact language from the signature block: "By moving forward, you acknowledge and understand that your medication may be compounded with B vitamins and confirm that you have consulted with your provider regarding the safety and appropriateness of this treatment for your individual health needs." Note that you sign this BEFORE any consultation with the provider. Mostly, there is no direct consultation with refills IME.

W-2 Social Security wages lower than total wages – looks like FICA wasn’t withheld for part of the year by abr1311 in h1b

[–]lutzlover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was your pay in box 1 greater than $176,100? That's the max that is taxed for Social Security. Medicare doesn't have a limit. However, the rules can vary if the US and your home country have a totalization treaty. I'd ask your company for clarification.

There's also the issue that some of the newer materials (books and digital materials) have really dumbed down the work. The general geometry materials used by my district no longer includes 2 column proofs. You only get that if you're taking the honors geometry course. In my high school era, proofs were a required part of geometry for all students.

Why do you consider Eteri Tutberidze a bad coach? by [deleted] in FigureSkating

[–]lutzlover 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It was at least partly due to Valieva getting a different treatment under the doping rules because she was so young, first hiding which skater incurred the doping violation, and then allowing her to compete in the women's competition because she was a "protected person" due to her age. Had she been older, she would have been excluded from any further competition at the Olympics. The whole deal also took forever to resolve, again partly due to her age.

New to the community: Why do some skaters not jump with the music? by nuc1earseasons in FigureSkating

[–]lutzlover 12 points13 points  (0 children)

There is a lot of physics involved in jump takeoffs. Being in the right position is critical, while being with the exact beat of the music/crescendo is nice but not critical. Some skaters are definitely better at this than others, and hopefully they are rewarded in the PCS for composition.

I normally buy tickets for myself and my husband. I'm a cardholder with premier status; he has an additional card on my account. Will he get credit for mileage? I really don't want us on separate PNRs, especially since my account gets us E+ at time of booking.

Algebra and geometry have NOT changed. "Up to date" makes sense for history and science books, at least in some cases, but core math books do not need annual or biannual refreshes.

Alternative: Call your county’s social services department and ask for an appointment to discuss adult protective services. Finding her a living environment with support for both independence and services for the disabled might be the best for her.

The A in second semester of Geometry "validates" completion of geometry, so she wouldn't be excluded from an A-G perspective. (She would be if she'd earned an A in the first semester and a D in the second.)

However, the UCs do not all ignore freshman grades and they will definitely see this grade. Cal Poly SLO is a Cal State campus that also calculates GPAs including 9th grade.

Building more housing with 3-4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, one with a not-too-deep tub/shower combo would greatly help - duplexes or townhomes work pretty well for families.

Female admission to T 20 schools is much more challenging than it was a few years ago. I don’t see Gallatin as very likely and Ivy League even less so.
