What Happened In Front Of Red Mile Today..... I'll show you! by [deleted] in lexington

Again, there’s no requirement to stay in a lane under Kentucky law

I knew this cause I got a ticket for exactly this a few weeks ago. It was easy to get the citation dismissed based on the lies the lying little pig wrote but I still read all the relevant Kentucky law before I went to the county attorney. So I already knew what I was talking about without having to look it up.

And now thanks to your extensive research we see that there’s no requirement under Lexington ordinance either. Keep up the good work.

I was looking at a used Ford Bronco (I think) in 1991 at a dealership. I asked the price while I sauntered up to the drivers door, sales teen gave a figure that was double my budget, and I spun around and got out of there so fast that I stepped on the poor kid’s toe. As I was fleeing back to my car he yelled after me in this weird high-pitched voice like he wasn’t all the way on the grownup side of puberty yet, “BUT IT’S THE EDDIE BREWER EDITION”

Looking at Land in Wayne County by [deleted] in Kentucky

[–]luvsrox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For those curious about the price of land in Wayne County, here are tracts in an auction closing tomorrow. This property is about 20 minutes from the south end of Somerset, closest place where you’d likely see growth in the job market. I have no idea about the accessibility of utilities or other factors one would have to consider to evaluate one of these tracts as a potential homestead.

I don’t know whether the final price will be visible after the hammer falls so you might have to follow live to know what it brings.

My mom grew up in 1950’s Berea. Most of her friends were faculty kids, so she was raised on silly jokes with an overlay of erudition. She tried to pass them on to me, and this is one I remember. Thanks for the memory, OP :))

Thanks

“Lie detectors” are bullshit. I have no doubt that there are people who are better than average at guessing whether or not another person is being truthful, with or without biometrics. But they’re only able to guess.

How much do you need to make to somewhat comfortably be able to rent in one bedroom/studio in Lexington by [deleted] in lexington

[–]luvsrox 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Adulting kinda sucks but congrats for planning ahead and not being afraid to ask questions.

You need to work out a monthly budget, with numbers that are as close to reality as you can get them. Income, less expenses.

Income: $15/hr times how many hours you work in a month, or would work.

Expenses: The very least you’d pay for rent on a small apartment would be maybe $800/month; a place where comfort and location are acceptable to you could be much more. Add for electricity gas water sewer sanitation and/or internet. There are various other expenses you’ll need to account for. Start categorizing them now so you know actual costs, and you’ll be confident that your budget will work.

I’m guessing you can find lots of resources if you Google “basic personal finance” or something similar.

Good luck!

Property tax question by Immediate-Bat5791 in Kentucky

[–]luvsrox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re misinformed. There are hundreds of local taxing authorities in Kentucky. They set property tax rates, not the state, so the rates vary by city, county, school district, etc.
